All Hell Breaks Loose
The girls successfully save an innocent, Dr Griffiths; and vanquish a demon, Shax. Phoebe enters the underworld and uses her evil-power-stripping potion on Cole. Up above, it seems a camera crew caught the Charmed Ones in supernatural action and the tape is played on TV, exposing them as witches. The only solution seems to be to turn back time. For that they need Tempus (see Deja Vu All Over Again). The Source, who we finally see for the first time, agrees to order Tempus to turn back time; but only if Phoebe stays in the underworld. When she finds out that Piper has died from a gunshot wound, Phoebe reluctantly agrees to the deal, since it seems the only way to bring Piper back to life. She also has a condition: because she is now stuck in the underworld, she won't be at the manor to protect the other two the first time Shax attacks - so Cole must be allowed to warn them.
In the event, The Source doublecrosses her. He gives orders for Phoebe to be killed and Cole to be prevented from leaving. When time is reversed, Shax takes Piper and Prue by surprise at the manor. He kills Dr Griffiths and seriously injures the two girls leaving them uncoscious on the floor.
