ABOUT

My name is Nil and I am a software engineering student at Dixie State University / Utah Tech University in Saint George, Utah.

Early in middle school, I discovered my passion for digital design upon downloading Blender (a 3D modeling software). The thought of being able to create anything my mind could imagine left me eager to learn all about it. One thing quickly led to another, my interests expanded to other areas such as video game development and graphic design.

My idea behind majoring in software engineering instead of design is to acquire a diverse set of skills and act as a “bridge” between the technical and the creative worlds.

While I am a perfectionist and will always strive to deliver the best quality possible I also value efficiency. When working on a project I am meticulous and pay attention to detail. A clean topology in 3D models matters, especially if they are intended to be used in dynamic environments such as video games. The same can be said for graphic design; proper hierarchy, alignment, and colors are only a few of the elements that are essential to appeal to the human eye.

Some of the software that I have had a chance to work with so far include: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Blender, 3DS Max, Unreal Engine, Unity, Substance Painter, Zbrush, and more.
