ARMAGEDDON PREVIEW

NIKO'S PREVIEW
Survivor Series had the Tag Title match and the Elimination Chamber as possible best matches.  This PPV has Eddy Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit on the undercard as the probable best match.  Do you see a problem with that?

The only match given a lot of thought was HHH's (shocking!) and I am not sure anyone wants to see it, as the fact HHH is going over is way too obvious to be interesting.  Still, if there are (good) surprises and the good matches click really well, the PPV could still be decent.  (Gee, that sentence didn't make you want to run out and pay for it?  Me neither.)

THREE STAGES OF HELL FOR THE WORLD TITLE -  Shawn Michaels (Champion) vs. Shawn Michaels (First Fall - Street Fight, Second Fall - Steel Cage, Third Fall - Ladder Match)
The match boils down to this, if HHH is going to win cleanly with no kind of swerve, no new heel group, no title getting vacated, nothing creative happening, then the match will be a dissapointment for everyone.  Since they announced the damn elimination chamber people have been expecting HHH to lose the title for one month and get it back.  If that happens, even if its in a spectacular match nobody will care.  My prediction is HHH wins, we all groan and wait to see who he squashes next.

FOR THE WWE TITLE - Big Show (Champion) vs. Kurt Angle.
Brock Lesnar will be in Kurt Angle's corner.  This is either trying to sell us the fact that Angle is going to be a shoo-on to win the title, or that a swerve is coming.  Any kind of swerve (Brock accidentally hitting Angle, on purpose hitting Angle, getting Angle DQ'd, Angle going with Heyman) sets these two on a collision course for Wrestlemania, which is a wonderful thing.  Hopefully, Angle stays face as I like babyface Angle.  Regardless, match will be slow and adequate at best.  I'm going to go with Angle going over and the end of the Big Show's latest push, which usually last about a month, and his month is up.

FATAL FOUR WAY ELIMINATION MATCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TITLES - Chris Jericho & Christian (Champions) vs. Booker T & Goldust vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. Steven Regal & Lance Storm.
This is yet another thrown together match, taking the Dudleys vs. Jericho & Christian feuds and throwing some more teams in the mix.  The build up seems designed for Goldust to get a big win for him and Booker T.  I go with them to win, and pray no one on Raw thinks that Goldust and Booker T would be an interesting feud.  (cause it won't)

Chris Benoit vs. Eddy Guerrero.
Why didn't they build this up more?  Yes, I know its cause they just threw it out there cause the PPV card was sucking, but WHO CARES!  Its Benoit vs. Eddy.  If they have a slightly above average match for them, it will be 5 stars classic fantastic stuff.  Benoit wins a classic is my prediction.

Edge vs. A-Train.
A-Train (Albert) has never had a very good or memorable match.  So, all the Edge haters get to find out how much talent he really has as he has been saddled with a huge anchor in A-Train.  I don't think the push is justified, as he has not shown even a glimmer of talent to justify it.  I'd expect A-Train to win to continue this inane push.  Another bleh match.

Kane vs. Batista.
This has been an inane feud, with Batista only allowed to look strong for one ten second moment, and the fans really not caring about Kane anymore.  This is a bad match, which Batista needs to win in dominating fashion if they expect him to mean anything.  BTW, as of this writing I am not sure if this is on the card or not because its not listed but this other match is.

Maven vs. Chris Nowitski.
The clash of the tough enough alumni, thrown onto the PPV without any announcement or buildup.  Why?  Hopefully, neither of them screw up too much as both are still green.  Bleh match again.  I'd think Chris wins as he seems to always win.

FOR THE WOMAN'S WORLD TITLE - Victoria (Champion) vs. Trish Stratus vs. Jackie.
When you throw a talent like Jackie into a match like this at the PPV, you are basically telling the fans that this is a toilet break.  I love the Victoria vs. Trish feud, but Jackie is not at their level and drags this match down rather than making it more interesting.  I assume Trish gets the title back by beating Victoria but keeps their issue going.

THE SHOWING OF THE LESBIAN VIDEOTAPE.
Why do I list it as a match?  Well, the WWE is listing it as a selling point for the damn PPV.  The payoff for this will be a kiss between Dawn and Torrie which will Dawn into a babyface rather than building heat for their feud.  Its a pointless thing which wouldn't be annoying at all if it wasn't actually thought of as a good interest drawing storyline.

As for other things, RVD is at the world.  I think he can b*tch about that and set the seeds for a storyline against Bischoff, or a heel turn depending how they do it.  Him not having a match and being at the world is asinine to such a high level btw.

Scott Steiner will be there.  I'm assuming they will try to set him up with his new program.  A run-in in the HHH match would make the most sense, but then HHH would have to lose which is not allowed.  Perhaps just a confrontation at some point?

As for Heat matches, I'd think we will get a nice little cruiserweight encounter, possible Billy Kidman vs. Jamie Noble again, or a tag match with the cruisers.  At least that's what I would do, basically guaranteeing we will get 3 Minute Warning vs. Spike Dudley & Jeff Hardy.

This is a very blah PPV.  If the good matches don't click really well, this has the potential to be a bad show, especially if both Angle and Shawn lose.
