In 1988 in Gent, Aris ended up 4th, losing in the semi final by Tracer Milano, that later became european champions beating Maccabi Tel Aviv in the final.
In 1989 in Munich, Aris lost a great opportunity to play to the final. In the semi final against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Aris was in front with few minutes to go. But a fighting between players of both teams, fazed Galis, Aris lost its rhythm and the game. The team confirmed its great form by beating Barcelona    88-71 in the game for the 3rd place. Yugoplastika won that trophy, introducing some new talents such as Dino Radja and Toni Kukoc.
In 1990 in Zaragoza, Galis reached the final four for the last time with Aris. In the semi final against Barcelona, the refs pushed the home team and the game was over soon. In 3rd place game, Aris lost by Limoges.

Galis generaly, became the top scorer of all times in Europe. In a total of 146 european games, he scored 4.353 points with Aris, averaging 34,2 points per game. His performances against Barcelona in 1987 and Yugoplastika in 1990 are well known. In the game agaist Barcelona, he led Aris in a historical victory inside Spain, scoring 45 points and making 19 out of 27 fg. In 1990, Aris did not win Yugoplastika, but Gangster scored 48 points with 18/21 fg made and having Toni Kukoc as his personal guard.
His performance against finish Uusikaupunki for the preliminary round of Euroleague 1989, is also well remebered. Galis remebered his years in NCAA when he played as a point guard. In that game, he dished a total of 23 assists, which is a european record.
Galis' last game ever wearing Aris' Jersey, was the greek cup final against AEK Athens, back in 1992. Aris won the trophy, Galis scored 18 points, and those were about to be his last points with the team that he lived the most important moments of his career.
