Harpsichord
after Johann Nikolaus Bach, Jena around
1700.
The Harpsichord for the Music of Johann
Sebastian Bach
Double
Manual, 8´8´ Stringing in Bronce,Brass and Tombak, 3 Rows of Jacks,
Buff Stop, Range FF/GG-f³ , with
Transposing Device (a1=440/415Hz), Length
215 cm, Width 94.5 cm.
The Case is made
of Resonance Spruce, Veneered with German
Cherry or German Walnut.
You find a fixed, Strong, Dark 8´ on the
Lower Manual and on the Upper Manual You
can Switch from a Loud, Clear 8´ to a
Soft, Nasal 8´.
Due to the Manual
Coupler, it Offers a Great Variety of
8´- Sounds, which is Typical for the
German Harpsichords, since with only a
few Exceptions, the German Harpsichords
had been made from Organ Makers.
In the Baroque
Age, Germany was a Melting
Pot for the Italian and the French
Style of Music and my
J.N.Bach-Harpsichord may be Compared to a
Chameleon: Because of it`s
Attac and the Clear
Speaking, it sounds Italian.
His Organ-Like Sound-Duration
and the Big Volume Cannot be Achieved
with Copies of Flemish or French
Instruments.
If You Play i.e. C.Ph.E.
Bach or Mozart, you may
have the Feeling to Listen to a
Fortepiano because of it´s Dark,
Grounded Sound.
Two equal 8´ on the Lower and the Upper
manual is, what J.S.Bach
Wanted for his Goldberg-Variations.
It is the Most Suitable Harpsichord for Polyphonic Music
because of it´s
Speaking Sound and there are Pronounced 4
Different Tone-Colours in the Range of
the Human Voices.
The Original has
no Expensive Wood-Profiles and
Decoration.
It had Certainly been made for a
Musician, who wanted to get an Excellent
Harpsichord as Cheap as Possible.
There is no 4´to
Tune and Maintain, which is difficult.
The Original has the Range of AA-d³
which is Suitable for Most of the Baroque
Music and I have sold ca. 12 Copies like
this.
On Special Demand, I have Widened the
Range to FF/GG-f³, which I offer
parallel.
I have Made the
First Copy in 1985 and since then it is
the Most Sold Harpsichord of My Program.
