Niki
My Beloved Niece:
This is one of the hardest things
I've ever had to do.
To say good-bye to my beautiful niece,
here in front of all you.
Though Niki may be gone from us,
in body and in soul.
Her love remains within our hearts,
and will always continue to grow.
For those of us who knew her well,
knew how she loved life.
She was a wonderful daughter, a wonderful mother,
and in God's eyes, Donnie's wife.
We'll continue to miss her
each day and each night.
We'll never forget her laughter and tears,
and how she made all things right.
So now comes the time, I must say good-bye,
To my beautiful and lovely niece.
And hope and pray that time will heal,
and finally bring some peace.
Love Always and Forever,
Aunt Penny

The warmth of those deep, brown eyes that will no longer see daylight.
That wry little grin with the wrinkled nose was a familiar sight.
The playfulness that made me feel like an old man.
The subtle encouragement she gave telling me that I can.
The softness in her voice and the shimmer of her hair.
The pain in her heart when she spat how much she didn't f'n care.
The deceiving outward innocence reinforced with a touch of the arm.
A soul and personality meant only to bring a smile, not to harm.
The short time we knew each other we became strong friends.
But as with all things except memories, time only lends.
What we keep in memory~ is ours-unchanged- forever......
