Rockie Rash to Rockie Lynne to big time Music Star!

submitted by Millicent Hope Holton

Rockie Lynne, who we all know as Rockie Rash, is living his dream.   After high school Rockie enlisted in the Army and spent his time at Ft.  Bragg in the 82nd Airborne.  He went on to attend the Guitar Institute of  Technology in Los Angeles.  For many years Rockie played in cover  bands and as a studio musician writing his own songs all the while.

In the late 90’s he decided the only way to have his own songs heard  was to play them.  He set out to do just that traveling the country in  a van with his band and a trailer full of equipment in tow playing his
own music anywhere people were willing listen and sometimes where they  weren’t.

As an independent artist Rockie recorded four albums, “Rockie”,  “A Boy Like Me”, “Big Time In A Small Town”, and an instrumental  jazz album, "A Change Of Season".  Rockie’s style is Country but with
a definite kick of Rock -n- Roll.  Rockie signed a major record deal  and released his self-titled “Rockie Lynne” album in 2006 with great  success.  The single, “Lipstick”, released prior to the album was
very successful and spent 12 weeks at #1 in single sales.

In early 2007, Rockie produced  another instrumental album,  “Twilight”.  With this album Rockie showcases his expertise and talent as a  composer, musician, and producer. The songs reflect his love for many  genres of music.

September 2004:  A note from our class President:  Laurine Weatherby Head:

"Hi Fellow Classmates,  I am Laurine Weatherby Head and I used to go to North Iredell and I graduation in 1983 but I'm not fully recovered from that experience (just kidding!).  But I hate I missed the 20th Reunion and I do miss guys a lot.

I have been married for 17 years to Dennis Head NIHS Class of '81.  We live in Marietta Ga. and we have 3 terrific kids.  Donovan my oldest is 16 years old; 6'2" and calls me shorty.  He is our budding politician and is driving us crazy with the elections.  My middle son Daniel is 13 years old and because his Birthday is Sept. 26 and He had a big Paint Ball Birthday Party last year.  He would be the reason I wasn't able to go to the reunion but I love him anyway.  He's into his play station and trying to get his Lawn Care company going with his best friend.  Diana is my youngest at 5 years old and she just started Kindergarten.  She loves soccer and she "losted her 1st tooth" yesterday.

I have been busy with my kids for the past 16 years I coached the boys Tee-ball Teams, was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Weblos Den Leader, I am a Boy Scout Committee Chairman and a Soccer Team Mom.  I am just really enjoying watching them grow and develop into their own unique personalities.

I have to support them so I do work, I have been with Home Depot in Marietta for the past 8 years.  I work with the Kitchen design team, I am the Kitchen Expediter and Kitchen Install Coordinator.  It's stressful but fun and I get to work for a retailer and have 9 to 5 Monday to Friday hours which allows me the flex time to get my guys where they need to be with all their activities.

I would love to hear from any of my classmates, I have been so out of the loop and I miss you all, email me!"
