| My name is Torin, and I am the God of the Sea. I began life as a sailor aboard the S.S. Maelstrom in the year 789 nr. After ten years I was made her captain, the King of Arcian awarded me my title. He also gave me my first mission, to escort his nephew Winston and his comrades to the Wastelands. This was no difficult task, even the most experienced captains avoided the island like the plague, but how could I say no to the king? We went through a very difficult storm, the worst I had ever seen, and even Wyvern attacks as we neared the island. But my ship is tougher than nails, and with the help of my new crew we pulled through just fine. As a member of the Arcian army we had sunk over 73 Vlarn ships in 21 years and the Maelstrom earned a reputation that made most enemy captains retreat upon the site of us. The Maelstrom was sunk in the year 821 during the Arcian-Vlarn war, but for the record we took four Vlarn warships down with us. But me and most of my crew survived to sail again, and thanks to Duke Kazac Velon, whom had once sailed for me, I was given a new and faster ship and was the terror of the seas until my death of old age in the year of 850. I ascended to the status of God of the Sea in the year 1266, after the former God, Mannan-Mac Lir, was slain in the God War.
