Religious leaders and their followers mock their cause

They claim to know God’s future decisions by preaching damnation. They have claimed that homosexuality, promiscuity and deficient worship were the stimuli of our massacres. They attribute the segregation of Russia to Allah instead of socio-economic and political factors. Others claim that our slaughter is part of “God’s plan,” either to punish America or to bring our citizens closer to each other, depending on the group of believers in question.

One by one, the evangelists further ostracize an already greatly misled secular population.

If you entertain my philosophy, you may find answers to the questions that arise from these hypocrisies, or you may find more questions to ponder.

I went through a period of agnosticism that lasted two years.

A little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing, and science is no exception.

Now, after 46 courses in science, engineering and mathematics, I am once again comfortable in my faith, and I have joined a large scientific community that supports religion.

My path from agnosticism is a topic for later discussion, for now you may indulge me and assume that there is a God if you are having a hard time like I once did.

If God exists, then how can he allow these things to happen? It’s interesting how this question is so pressing on America recently.

There have been so many atrocities throughout the history of mankind that it shocks me to find this question inadequately addressed.

First, when you ask that question, if you expect the null response, you are assuming that God is or has always been perfect.

I think that God is not perfect. In the beginning He was the sole reality.

If God were inherently perfect, then He would not have created the world and mankind. The need or desire for creation reflects a deficiency in His existence. A truly perfect entity would exist in a suspended state, for to change reality is to deviate from perfection. An improvement of reality shows that perfection was never reached.

A deterioration of reality would signify an inherent defect that allows for regression, which in turn shows imperfection. Therefore, by virtue of creation, God is not perfect.

Stemming from God’s imperfection comes his imperfect creation. A group of His angels betrayed Him and He cast them out of heaven. Satan and evil were thus born. Mankind defied him and we were cast from worldly utopia.

Although there is no greater manifestation of existence than God, the troubles of the world began with His imperfection. Perhaps at the end of material existence, God and His creation may reach perfection.

I recognize that because God gave mankind free will, we are a self-governing body.

In the information age, where news and evidence flies faster than wind, if God’s hand continuously made right all the evil done by man, soon he would nullify his creation.

What could be a quicker way of destroying the free will of mankind than to inspire unquestionable proof to the masses, or to impose His will by using miracles?

I think that miracles are only conducted when the fate of the world, or something very important to God is at stake. Unlike some religious fanatics, I do not claim this to be fact, because I did not hear it from the voice of God.

God as a creator and father is reasonable to me. The puppet-master God that many Protestants believe in does not make sense to me. If God guided certain people off of those flights, or if God does things as insignificant as getting you a parking space (some people pray for these things), then God is greatest slave of all time.

It makes more sense that the Creator made companions to share existence with, and not puppets to control and to be a slave to His own creation.

Friedrich Nietzsche said, “Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators the creator seeks. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters for everything about him is ripe for the harvest.”

We are the governors of this world, and God made it so.

He does not sit in courtrooms making sure that every future victim is protected from an insufficient ruling. We are His companions and fellow creators.

Sublunary justice is a burden that has been bestowed upon the hands of mankind, and we shall carry it out to the best of our ability.

Jesus told us, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s”.

We have maintained dominion over this material world for many years now. It seems that the management of criminal behavior belongs to Caesar. The afterlife should receive no comment, for the management of that realm belongs to the man upstairs.

Our citizens were slaughtered three times during the Clinton administration by the same force that we fight today. Peace was sought through diplomacy with the Taliban and al Qaeda.

I send word to the pacifists: You had your chance and you failed us miserably. Do not seek shelter behind unrepresentative religious figures that stain their religion’s name.

Your bible shows that judicious wrath is a powerful tool of the righteous.

Do you follow all of God’s steps, or do you bend mountains to see the sky?

While some may continue to steal God’s voice and talk as if they know his business and plans, I encourage you to take it for face value. After all, I haven’t seen wings sprouting from their backs lately.

If you want to hear the voice of God, I suggest you begin with the voice of reason within yourself.
