Nick's Bio

Nick made his debut in Vancouver, Canada, after hitch-hiking around the world for 8 years. Before that he had 38 jobs including as a shark fisherman, opal miner, yacht delivery crew and many varied jobs across 4 continents. Before comedy the longest job he had was as a Soldier, during which time he served in 11 countries including being part of the task force during the Falklands War. He is a holder of the South Atlantic Medal (with rosette). After returning to the UK (via a departure order from the Canadians) he made his first appearance at the Edinburgh festival.

Within 3 years he had won the "Polo Mint" comedy award, as voted by the fellow comedians and club owners. In 1995 he co-presented the "Steve Wright People Show" (Saturday nights BBC1) during which he interviewed celebrities such as Kylie, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock, Lulu, Take That, Tom Jones, Ray Davies and Ivana Trump.

In 1996/97 he did a World Tour performing 188 shows across Europe, Asia, Australasia, North America, South America, Africa, Since then he has appeared in TV and Radio in places as diverse as Borneo, India, Iceland and Norway. In 2006 alone he performed in Barbados, St Martin, St Lucia, The Philippines, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Prague, Norway, Italy, Spain, India, New York and Japan. Still haven't managed to have a holiday yet.

 

At the moment he is writing a book called "Shooting on Location" about his time as a green collar worker in The Royal Signals. He doesn't normally talk about himself in third person, but he/I have started and cant be bothered rewriting this.
