Play My Song - Chapter 8

After the show, Rylie went with Sadie back to Nicks hotel room to wait for him. They both ordered ice cream and watched O brother, where art thou? on HBO. About an hour into the movie, the door opened and Nick stumbled in drunk with a tall blonde around his arm. They both stopped in the doorway and stared at Rylie and Sadie in confusion.

Oh hey, Nick choked out, whats up? Why are you here?
Well Sadie hesitated, you wanted me to meet you in your room after the show. So we could listen to my demo...
Oh. Nick didnt recall saying that, then again he couldnt recall much of anything right now.
Sadie grabbed her coat and began to head for the door, But you know what, thats cool. I can see that you have more important things to get your hands on so well just go.
Wait. Nick said. Hoping he could make the situation better than it was.
Thanks for acting interested though. You sure know how to crush someone. Sadie replied.
With that, both of the girls left, leaving Nick alone with the blonde.

The girl approached Nick, weaving her arms around his neck and pressing her lips against his. She slipped her tongue into his mouth, trying to deepen the kiss. He pushed her away and wiped his mouth, she tasted like ashes drenched in vodka. Not his personal favorite.
You know, this isnt going to work. He said, trying not to make eye contact with her while walking towards the door.
Excuse me? She stood in the middle of the room, hands on her hips.
You heard me. Get out. He opened the door & motioned for her to go.
She rolled her eyes and stormed out the door, slamming it behind her.

Nick let out a sigh of relief, then hurried into the bathroom to brush his teeth. He then grabbed his cellphone and headed down towards the lobby, hoping to still catch Sadie.
Smooth Nick, real smooth, he thought.
