Play My Song - Chapter 6

Theyd made it out of the hotel without breaking a sweat. They even kissed in the car while being driven away. After arriving at the nightclub, Nick brought her backstage, gave her an all access pass and told her to wait for him in the personal seating area inside the club. After about fifteen minutes, his band showed up on stage to set up, and five minutes later, he showed up. Nick ran through vocal warm-ups with a voice coach, then ran through a few songs before calling it quits to grab some food.

Nick jumped off of the stage and approached an excited Sadie.
So what do you think? He asked, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
This...this is so...so freakin amazing! Im in such awe right now. She replied, still in disbelief of what was going on around her.
Yeah well it gets boring after a while. When the fans are here, thats when it really gets fun.
Sadie couldnt stop looking around the spacious nightclub, Ive always dreamed of touring. Performing for thousands of people. Just singing your heart out to your fans."
Nick cocked his eyebrow, Really? You sing?
Yeah, she smiled at him then continued, but we can talk about that later. Lets go get some grub!
"Wait. I want to hear you sing."
"Well I actually have my demo with me if you're interested in listening to it."
A smile grew on Nick's face. "Are you kidding? I'd love to!" He glanced at his watch. "But I don't have time right now. How about after the show you come up to my room and we can listen to it. Maybe talk some sort of deal?"
Butterflies began to flutter in Sadie's stomach. "Sounds great."
She grabbed her coat and held his hand as they walked out the door. They made their way across the street to the Hard Rock Cafe where they got a private booth and ordered meals.
Nick continued to grill Sadie on her singing, "Have you ever sang in public?"
Sadie blushed, "Yeah, I try."
"You try?"
"I've done a few talent shows and contests here and there. Nothing too fancy."
"Like community stuff?"
"That and I won 2nd place at our State Fair's talent contest. I won 50 bucks." Sadie proudly beamed.
Nick chuckled, "That's cute."
Sadie smiled, "Cute? I think that's a big deal & you shoot me down & say it's cute?"
"I didn't mean cute as in what you did was cute. I meant that I think you're cute. As in you make me smile."
Sadie felt uncomfortable all of a sudden.
Was that a good thing to be called cute?
Nick caught onto her fidgeting and intertwined his fingers in hers. "I don't know what it is about you Sadie. I've only known you for a total of not even 2 hours. But I like you. There's somethin' that makes me want to be around you."
She blushed.
Did he just say he likes me?
"Well Carter, I don't know what it is about you either but there's something about you that I like too. Besides the good looks and good voice...of course."
Before Nick could respond, their food arrived and they ate in silence.
