Photography wise.... I strarted taking photos in 1997 which was one of my year 9 electives.  Going to a private all boys school i had little creative out lets as sports was the way to go at that school.  I loved the class and got good grades.
I took up photography again in year 10 and when it came time to choose work experience i knew what field i wanted to do it in, photography.  I did my work experience at swinburne universities photography department.  They treated me really badly but i knew that this was the job for me.
After troubles at school i changed schools to one of, if not the best high schools in victoria for photography, here my passion and talent took off and in year 11, 1999 i got accepted to do work experience at the age newspaper, the biggest news paper in victoria, where i learnt alot about the bisnuiss and day to day goings on.  That year i also did work experience at the leader newspaper it showed me another side to the photography industry.  That year i won best photographer for my year level in the photography department, this cemented what i already knew, that my career was going to be in the photography industry.  It was this year that i started taking band photos and also hooked up with a writer called mandi keating, who writes coloums for inpress magazine and revolver magazine amoung other things, through her i got access to press passes and the opertunity to get my band photos published.
The year 2000 was my final year of high school, and i wanted to do something different for my folio, i consintrated more on using photoshop, and completed half of my whole years folio using it.  Most of my band photos were taken in that year, and i took the shots that would give me my first published photos in a cd booklet, a back cover and in a 7".  The end of the year 2000 saw time to pick out univeristys/colleges and dedcide what i wanted to do after high school.  My dream since year 10 had always been to get into RMIT universitys photography program, which is the toughest and best photography course in australia, and widely regrarded as one of the five best courses in the world.  I didnt think i was good enough to get in, so i chose the RMIT course as my 3rd preference.  I had, had two interviews after my selection and at both interviews got offered a place in both courses on the spot.  I signed up to attend PIC (photographic imaging college) thinking it was a good course and also thinking it was the best i could get into.  A few weeks later while cooking breakfast with my girlfriend i recieved proberly the best phone call i had every recieved, which was the head of the RMIT photography course asking me if i wanted to attend his course, i was so shocked and excited that i went speechless and then told him i would have to think about it, 10 seconds later realising how stupid i sounded i accepted the offer into the course which is where i am currently at, in my first year of the RMIT BA photography course, where i do at least one studio shoot a week, usually one location shoot a week plus other subjects including ditial imaging and photographic theory to mention a few.  I recently brought an imac 600 to help me with my course, which hopefully will keep me out of the darkroom.
At the start of 2000 i updated all my gear and now im using a nikon F80 camera body with nikon standard lenses, with a nikon SB28 flash.  I usually like to use a hoya UV filter on all shots, expect my landscapes, where i like to use a hoya RED25A filter to increase contrast.  For band photography i use fuji 800 press film and for folio shots i usually use kodak tmax 100.
