I started packing up the kitchen. What was I going to do with all this food? I decided to give it to the food bank. Brian was sitting on the counter watching me work.
"So Brian are you going to tell me."
"Calm down Rae. I'll tell you. For the first few months that they were married it was great. Torri was the sweetest wife. WHen she found out she was pregnant, Nick and her were the happiest couple in the world."
"What happened? It sound like they were the perfect couple."
"After Jackson was born, Torri started changing. She started acting like she did before they got married. She was running around. Nick was taking care of Jackson. When Jackson was about three months, Torri told Nick she was leaving."
"What reason did she give him?" I asked curiously.
"Rachel why are you so concerned about Nick's life? I thought you hated him."
"Bri, just because I'm mad at Nick doesn't mean I don't care. I was there for him until they got married. I could never hate Nick."
"I knew that. I just wanted to hear you say it."
"Anyway, can we finish our discussion? What reason did Torri give him?"
"She told Nick that she didn't love him anymore. Actually she told him she never loved him."
"How could she be so cruel? Why did he even marry her?
"He was devistated. He was left to take care of Jackson by himself. She gave up all her parental rights. That night she left, and Nick hasn't seen her since.
"Why didn't he call me? I would have flew down that instant. I didn't find out anything until you told me three months ago."
"Not many people knew at the beginning. He kept it quiet. Only the guys, management, and his family knew. Jane stayed with Nick for about a month. After that he was sick of everyone feeling sorry for him."
"Who took care of Jackson during the tours?" I sat down at the table.
"Nick took him on tour. His sisters would come out and help him. Jane came out to help a lot. He spent all of his extra time with Jackson."
"I give Nick a lot of credit. I'm sure he's a great father."
"Nick is the best father. He and Jackson are very close. Jackson is a little version of Nick." I laughed.
"So what's new in your life?"
"Not much happens in three months. I quit my job as a dance teacher and decided to move to Florida."
"So why did you choose Ruskin?" Brian helped put stuff in my suitcase.
"I don't know. The way Nick talked about it all the time, it sounded like a great place to live."
"Did Nick being single hae anyhting to do with it?" Brian asked smiling.
"Not really. I found a job with a nanny agency."
"Did you know you were going to be working for Nick?"
"No. Well let's load my truck and get going."
