Pokemon is a great anime show that's been on since 1998. Since then it's improved greatly. It starts out with a 10 year-old boy named Ash Ketchum, who wants to become the greatest Pokemon trainer, otherwise known as The Pokemon Master. On his 10th birthday, he's finally old enough to get a Pokemon. What are Pokemon? They're animal-like creatures with special powers. Some people have Pokemon as pets, while others have them for battle. Pokemon trainers have little round balls called PokeBalls, which get bigger when you press the button. These contain the Pokemon a trainer catches. PokeBalls have a black stripe all around the middle of them, with a white button on it. Above the black line is colored red. Below it is white. You buy them at PokeMarts which are in almost every city. Trainers are allowed to carry only 6 Pokemon at one time. Now, to become a Pokemon Master, one must defeat all 8 gym leaders in battle to earn a badge. There's a certain order to them, and they're spred across the region. Once a trainer gets all 8 badges, the can go to the Pokemon League, where they'll have to defeat the Elite Four, four of the strongest Pokemon trainers, and then they have to defeat the strongest one, and once that is done they are a Pokemon Master. Oh, here's the catch, the only way to heal your Pokemon in the Pokemon League is to have potions to make their HP (hit points) go up, and revives to heal them (if they fainted). What? I didn't tell you about fainting? Well, when a trainer loses a Pokemon battle, their Pokemon don't die. They faint. If all you're Pokemon faint, you lose. You are brought to a Pokemon Center to be healed. And, oh yeah, you can bring your Pokemon there anytime if they have low HP. Another thing, if you win a battle, you gain Exp. (Experience points) and if you get enough, you level up, and level 100 is the highest level. No, you don't lose Exp. if you lose a battle, thankfully. The higher level your Pokemon are, the stronger it is, and the more HP it has, but it has to earn more Exp. and the stronger the Pokemon you beat, the more Exp. you earn. Well, that about covers it, except for team Magma and Aqua from the Hoenn Region which you can search up on another site, and Team Rocket, an evil orginization bent on stealing Pokemon for profit. I have a page on them. Just click on "Team Rocket" at the top of the page.
