"Please don't do this." Jenna said as he brushed his fangs against her neck, gently, preparing to drink.
He began draining her slowly, methodically, when another one of his kind stepped out of the shadows.
"Get away from her Christopher." He said.
The man stopped short of killing her, not crossing the point of no return, his attention know focused on dealing with this one who would dare interrupt his feeding. "I coud kill you for this David."
After they circled each other like vicious animals, David attacked Christopher. They fought ferociously for a time, but it was not long before it was clear that Christopher had the upper hand over David. After all, Christopher was the master vampire. David only had a small infusion of blood, and Christopher had the advantage of many years to cultivate his power.
Christopher knew that he had neared the point of no return in his feeding, the time when he had to make that critical decision as to whether or not he was going to take David's life, because he could read his thoughts. The only time a master vampire could read the thoughts of his offspring was during a feeding. And he could read his thoughts now. His entire mind was an open book to Christopher. His thoughts. The fear, the pain, the plea for mercy. And in the end Christopher could not bring himself to do it.
