Wastelands Effect: Blue

So what interactions can be found between the blue cards found in Conquest and Wastelands? Hmmm… There is an obvious connection between Unmake and the “Top Card Matters” theme of Wastelands. You can use it to bounce one of you own permanents if you need to further reduce your board presence for some other Conquest card. Or you can bounce a card back in order to stack your top card for a nasty Veil of Distance effect. Bounce Crystal Asp and you can reply it again for its “comes into play” ability. Putting Phantasmal Eel on top will allow you to not only replay the Eel for its “comes into play” ability, but playing it again will also let you return Empathy’s Ignorance from your graveyard to play. That’s a lot of milling! Wield the Singularity and Shimmering Accord work very well in locking your opponent out of the game, giving you all the time in the world to win with some amazingly huge blue beatstick that may not have been revealed yet.

But of course, the biggest combo between the two colors will undoubtedly be all Conquest’s phasing cards coupled with Unveiling. “Remove all cards in play, in hands and in all graveyards from the game.” Nope nothing about phased out cards in there. Of all the cards in Wasteland, I fully expect this card to make the biggest impact on Conquest.
