i feel bitter and i got a paper cut too. but i finished up another 2 views.

1 done many more to go. with that done that brings the grand total of updated views up to a whole whopping 4. overall layout remains relatively constant and probably will, in the couple of days since the previous updated i've grown reticent so graphical update is unlikely since most things look close enough to well enough (that blue color is starting to grow on me too).
on other fronts, it seems to me that all the time i could be spending on working on this site is instead being focused into a flurry of anime watching and manga watching. and cause i randomly felt like it here's a random
sample,
i also spent some time cropping some head shots from some mangas, but i didn't really think of a nice way to incorporate them in the site anywhere, so they're stuck in limbo. so that stuff's reasonably cool (it's the closest thing i do to recreational reading other than web surfing), plus a bunch of animes are finishing up or starting up their fansubbed runs, so there's a lot of random stuff for me to catch up on. but overall it's nicely wasted time, or at least i like to think of it as such.
and other than that i'm probably just spending way too much time in front of the computer, the last couple days the brightness of my screen has been glaringly painful almost (headache inducingly bright, even after i adjusted it a couple times). oh and career fairs are a coming, so must get job or face failure ... but it's all good.

well i haven't actually done anything to update my old views onto this site, but that's ok, well i think it's ok. anyways i did do a little bit of tweaking and grammar correction with the links page just so i wouldn't feel too guilty about having an update about nothing.
i also did some more testing with different internet browsers (the windows versions at least) and have found that indeed ie is kinda lacking in png support compared to other browsers. i had so much faith that ie was probably the best internet browser out there, and this unfriendliness to my png's is quite a downer (but i'll probably keep on using it just cause it's what i'm used to). and as a result of that unfriendliness i have this vaguely light blue colored background to try to make my images blend in where the transparency was supposed to make it blend in with the background (sorry if this is the correct color for the correct effect for you, but it is for me, and that's what's important isn't it? that the site look the way i expect it to?). so overall png transparency may work on your computer for some reason or the other (ie included sometimes) or it may not (like with my ie or with most older browsers) and as a result of that pretty broad cruddiness, i'll try to look for some way to correct you people's png rendering or just redo all my pictures. anyways
here
are some screenshots of what my site should look like and how microsoft's ie goofs things up. as you can see i'm rather nitpicky about these things and it's all quite inordinately annoying.
maybe i'll do some more normal site updating later in the day, we'll just have to wait and see.

it's pretty sad that it's the second day of school and i already feel all tired. i guess it can be somewhat attributed to me being unused to walking any distance greater 15 ft. but my lack of doing anything over winter break shouldn't leave all too withered. all well, i feel tired ...
clinton's coming to town and unfortunately i was too lazy (and tired) to wait a couple hours in line to try to and fail to get tickets. but i wonder if the campus republicans will mount an anti-clinton protest, that'd be interesting if i cared, but i don't. so instead of waiting in line i went to the local tower and perused what's new in the world of cd music. it was nice to see that linkin park apparently won some of amas, they sure deserved to win something, 'hybrid theory' is really nice. and at one of the listening stations i found the band that i'm playing endlessly now, something corporate. it's pretty nice, pianos, guitars, decent vocals, decent lyrics i can't ask for much more, but then the ep (almost a cd but not quite) was 9 bucks for 6 songs, so i wasn't willing fork over the cash. ah well i guess music swapping does kinda hurt music sales, but then i'll buy there full length cd, probably.
so in site news: more updates to the site, another 2 views are reformatted and updated. it's getting there.

.: monday 1.21.2002
well, i planned to have everything done by now, but as you should be able see, everything is not very close to being done. after those prolific three days of working on this web page, my drive to complete has diminished so updates will probably be a bit less frequent (plus school will start to suck up a lot of time soon). but still some progress was made for those of you that care, comments is up and running so if you want to deluge my inbox with stuff, spam away!
in other news: it looks like it's going to be raining (talking about the weather is ok isn't it?), kinda a somber way for me to be returning to school. as much as i'm ok with rain, it still isn't all that nice, plus have to walk cross campus at 8 or so in the morning won't be all that much fun. i have a feeling this week is going to be almost hellish, especially depending on whether or not the registration gods are kind enough to let me into the classes i want to take. but winter break has been dragging on, and i really need to get back and do some cd burning to relieve some space constraints i've been running into over break (i've already started to eliminate stuff that i'll probably not watch, but downloaded anyway), so it won't be all that bad, just busy.
here's to hoping that more of this site will be done the next time anyone bothers to visit.

.: thursday 1.16.2002
two updates in a single day? impressive ... well since my sleeping patterns are all messed up, the previous update was mainly stuff done at around 12-3 at night. so it's kinda like it wasn't thursday but it was.
anyways it looks like adding content is going to be slow going after all. with the feeling that these views aren't really reflective of me, i just spent a couple hours or so just updating and reformatting one of my views, so if all the other views are in need of as much editorial and censuring as that one was, it's going to be a long time before everything is properly ok. but knowing me, i might get bored with the editing and generally get lazy and kick out all my old views without any extra work aside from making it fit in with the somewhat modified new style.
currently on the list: michelle branch's 'all you wanted'
.: thursday 1.16.2002
ok this thing is really starting to bug me. i was trying for a couple hours to get a reasonable version of michelle branch's 'all you wanted', but all that turns up with audiogalaxy (my music getting program of choice) are these horribly messed up versions of the song. i mean it's worse than radio quality, there's this weird metallic-ness to the song that makes it quite wrong. now i understand that there are crummy mp3s out there, but those mp3s should be isolated to lazy bums who don't actually listen to anything that they download. but as things turn out, with this michelle branch song and increasingly with other popular artists too, these crappy versions end up being the majority of the ones offered. now that just ain't right (legal iffiness of my complaint notwithstanding), please people check your mp3s for quality and organize your mp3s.
and for those of you wondering what i ended up doing, i had to go do the old fashioned thing and go do some ftp'ing. with a bit of work and the help of oth, i finally got a reasonable version. also of note, ratio sites nowadays just aren't as nice as they used to be, but i guess that's to be expected with all the crap floating around out there.
oh and i might've done some work on the site throughout the whole ordeal, so everything should maybe be almost working.

.: wednesday 1.16.2002
well there's almost content on the site. i finished up the topic list for |views|, so all i need to do is linkify some stuff and migrate my text to the new layout, so that'll probably be done pretty soon. on other news, |links| is up and reasonably close to what i want it to look like, take a gander at it.
in other news, i really almost don't feel like working on remaking my site, but ah well i've got nothing else to do with my idle computer time, so it shall proceed. in general, it's usually just humbling when i visit other people's sites (especially people who know how to draw and stuff), it's all just a whole lot better than this is ever going to get. so that's a bit of a downer. but also in general most people who have personal web sites have web sites that look like crap (not to bash any of you who have sites, but it's true) and i'd like to say that my site at least has a bit of style with it's austerity and formatting. so, indeed, it shall proceed.
