Story
The story in parasyte is none like any other. It is a story about a highschool student named Shin and a alien-seeming invasion.
One night these spikey-shaped koosh ball-like pods come down to earth and these little worm-like creatures crawl out (everyone in the book thinks that they are snakes but they look like weird worms). These are the are the parasites.
One Parasite tries to go in to Shin's ear (this is what the Parasites were supposed to go in to the ear there they will thrive and control the human brain. The only problem is Shin is luckly wearing headphones that night in his sleep and the Parasite cannot enter that way. The touch of the Parasite stirs Shin and he wakes up and thinks that it is a snake and tries to fight it but it ends up jumping into his left hand and gains control of Shins left arm.
The Parasite later called Lefty and Shin later forms a strange bond Lefty needs Shin for food and to sustain his life, and Shin wishes that this never happened but he knows and is thankful for Lefty's assistance in fighting other Parasites. Together they form a bond that is neither friendship nor enemy but is more or less a mutual dependancy.
