· Sponsoring youth clubs at Niceville High School

· Head Start Reading Program

· Youth motivator programs at local elementary schools

· Support of Sharing and Caring

· Sponsoring youth sports activities

· Sponsoring programs at The Children's Park

 We Have Fun!

Fun is the objective of our weekly meetings. We get together for breakfast every Thursday at 7 a.m. in the College Mall (Building K), OWCC Niceville Campus. Informative and entertaining presentations of local interest and exceptional comradery abound at our one hour meeting.

Our Members are Leaders in the Community!

Our membership rolls read like the Who's Who of the Twin Cities. Virtually every profession is represented: doctors, lawyers, merchants, educators, military members, civil servants, business owners, health care providers, real estate professionals, retired persons, and many more. It's a superb mix of talented and dedicated people with a common interest - serving our community through Kiwanis. Our officers and directors are elected annually and any member can serve. The officers and board meet on the last Tuesday of each month to deal with budgets, approve new members, and, of prime importance, discuss and start the actions to meet community needs. The general membership is welcome at all board meetings and all members are encouraged to attend.

Our Committees and Projects Make a Difference!

Committees are the backbone of the club. The innovation and creativity of our committee members make our service projects highly successful. A member may join any of the standing committees or project teams. A committee is formed for each activity. Currently the club has the following standing committees: Community Service, Sponsored Youth, Youth Services, Human and Spiritual Values, Membership, Club Meetings, Interclub/Networking, Public Relations, Scholarships, Young Children, Priority One, Fundrasers/Budget and Worldwide Service Project.

How to Join the Niceville-Valparaiso Kiwanis Club

If you know a Kiwanian, let them know you are interested. If you don't know a member or are moving to the area and need more information, e-mail or write us - OR just come join us for breakfast on Thursday morning at OWCC.We suggest you attend at least two of our meetings to check us out and find out what you need to know about Kiwanis. Please don't hesitate to ask any member any question about Kiwanis. We'll get your questions answered! If you decide you would like to join, ask for a Membership Information Form. Complete and submit the form to the Membership Chairperson, a club officer or your sponsor. Your application will be considered at the next board meeting. You will then meet with a Membership representative who will acquaint you with Kiwanis - its history, organization, policies and projects - in detail. After your "training" session, the board will complete action on your application. Induction normally takes place at our next meeting.

 Finances and Costs

All of the costs associated with administration of the club (meals, pins, awards, etc.) are paid solely by the members. Currently, the initiation fee is $40 and quarterly charges for dues, meals and other member costs are $84.50. Quarterly costs may vary based on meal costs. The costs of our service and community projects are covered by fund raising activities such as auctions, pancake breakfasts, Peanut Day sales, boiled peanut sales at the Mullet Festival, a Vacation Giveaway, and Tennis Tournament.
