College Pics!

What College Vacation Looks Like This Week...

Graham was trying to decide what to do one week. I begged to go to the zoooooooo...

When you think about it, flamingos are really weird-looking birds.
You don't even have to think about it too hard...

Actually, when you think about it, giraffes are really weird-looking animals...

The SF Zoo has a whole family of gorillas. The dynamics in play are AMAZING to see;
little brother annoys big brother, big brother beats on little brother,
little brother complains to mommy, daddy comes over and lays the smack down... Incredible.
I could watch them all day. But then, that's not saying a lot for easily-entertained me...

Scott fits right in on the primate family tree!
I think King's Academy would have something to say about that...

It's official - I'm shorter than a gorilla.
Not that that's surprising...

Any good Bowdoin student would head for the polar bears, first thing.
They're a lot smaller in the zoo than they are in... say, the Bowdoin gym.

This is probably the world's most ambiguous sign.
No polar bears? No polar bear mouths? Don't feed the polar bears?
Don't feed the polar bears with your own flesh? Don't make the polar bears yawn?
We seriously can't figure this one out...

This isn't an ambiguous sign. It's just silly.

People comment that it must be nice living in California because you're so close to the beach.
I must admit that we are close to the beach... but why would you want to go there?

Graham and Scott found this weird thing on the beach.

Graham and me on the weird thing

We also found these weird things on the beach. Graham said they were lost cargo off a Japanese trading vessel, and I said they were invertebrates.
They are, in fact, velella lata, an invertebrate.

Apparently, the trees in San Francisco can now grow shoes.
Here's a shoe tree on Market Street.

Guess socks come with it, too.
