Though I initially only had three Massachusetts counties I expect to add quite a few more, so I am listing them all. Greylock was done many years ago, driving up during a trip to the Berkshires. I have since climbed it on foot (May 2003). Wachusett was done as a hike years ago, it seemed interesting from a description in one of my "Hiking in Massachusetts" books. Blue Hill is close to my Massachusetts home, I hike there many times a year.

Mount Greylock (Berkshire County) and Crum Hill (Franklin County) were both done as part of a very pleasant highpointing trip to the Berkshires. Crum Hill was a short hike, done in the afternoon after a group hike up Berlin Mountain over the border in New York State.

Holt Hill (Essex County) was done as a side trip while driving between my homes in Thornton, NH and Brookline, MA, adding perhaps 20 minutes driving time. The trip up Holt Hill was very short (around 15 minutes), but I followed well marked trails beyond it to Boston Hill and Elephant Rock, with good views to the southeast. I almost managed to make a two hour trip out of it! A pleasant woods walk on a day that had a threatening forecast, in fact the sun was out much of the time while I was hiking.

Nutting Hill (Middlesex County) was done while driving back to Thornton from Brookline, which added about 1:30 driving time. All those reporting on Nutting Hill went up by the blue blazed State Line Trail, which is the shortest way. I went up by the more scenic Wapack Trail, and continued past the highpoint to the Massachusetts-New Hampshire state line with its three monuments, then returned by the State Line Trail.

Bellevue Hill (Suffolk County) was done as a very pleasant walk from my Brookline home on a gorgeous spring day.
