Xie Zhen et Xie Bao

Xie Zhen, Two-headed Snake and Xie Bao, Twin-Tailed Scorpion are brothers. Considered as the best huntsmen of the Prefecture of Dengzhou, they are mobilised to kill a tiger that kills human beings. With their snare-bows, poisoned arrows and crossbows, wearing panther skin pants and tiger pelt capes as shown on these paper-cuts, they go hunting.

They will succeed and kill the tiger but a rich and influent landlord steals their victory, hiding the corpse of the tiger. In a fury, the two brothers destroy everything in the manor, are caught and sent to jail as thieves.
Happily, thanks to Yue Ho, their cousin Mistress Gu and her husband Sun Li will free them.
Forced to clandestinity they all find a refuge in the Liang Shan Marsh with the outlaws.
