Long Overdue

It was just three days after the hostage with Brody, and Max still hadn't come out of his room. How could he come out? He couldn't handle all the memories he was receiving. Ever since Tess and Brody told him about when he first met Tess, the memories just wouldn't stop flooding his mind. He just lay there, on his bed, letting all the memories fill his mind.Down stairs, Michael sat on the couch with Isabel. They were talking to each other about what their past lives might have been like.
"I wonder what it was like, to live as a princess. I mean, to be on top of the world and have everything I ever wanted. That must have been THE life. That is, until we all died." Isabel said.
" Yeah. You know, the destiny book says that we were engaged. Do you think we could ever love each other like that again?" Michael asked.
" I don't know. I think it would take time."At the Crashdown, Liz, Maria, and Alex sat around eating some astroid pie. The resteraunt just closed up and Liz was sitting down for a rest. It had been a busy day because there had been a huge conference being held just across the street and the whole group had come to the Crashdown for supper. They had basically recovered from the incident, although Maria was still a little traumatized from seeing her mom and cousin go through it. She was happy her mom's mind had been wiped clean, but was dissapointed when Max didn't clear Sean's mind. He was so annoying as it was. Now he has something else to bother her life with. Why couldn't he just stay in juvy? It was pretty much a quiet evening there.Tess and Kyle were spending the night at home, watching yet another eventful football game. Back in Max's room, he was still lying there. Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door.
"Go away. I don't want to talk to anyone right now."
"It's Larek. Let me in." Said the man outside the door. Max walked over to the door and opened it. There he was, Larek in Brody's body, again.
"I need to talk to you." Larek said as he closed the door behind him.
"We've been observing from our satelites that there was a hostage crises involving you and your friends. As I've figured out, you've probably received a lot of your memories, right?"
"Yeah. They're just flooding into my head. Some are good and some are horrible. Can you help me?" Max asked.
"Well, you'll just have to get used to having all these memories. I know Tess has, so you can too. That's not why I've come to you, though. Tell me, do you have any memories of Tess when she was pregnant?" Larek asked.
"Yeah, that's mostly what I remember right now. I just can't figure it out. Did we have a child together?" Max asked.
"Well, as a matter of fact, no. Tess was pregnant when you four were killed. You and Tess were killed in front of your family. Your mother and her apprentance took the baby out of Tess and placed it in an energy-conserved pod, where the baby would be safe. There, the baby was put through the process of transferring from an Antarian to a Human. It was the same process you and the others went through in the pod chamber. Are you getting this?" Larek said.
"Yeah, I think so. Keep on going." Max said. Larek continued,
"Well, the baby has been ready for 30 years already. We just had to wait until you and Tess were mature enough to take care of him yourselves."
"So, where's the baby? Is Tess going to get pregnant or what?" Max asked.
" Tess's sister Karina offered to carry the baby. So, she's on her way right now. She should be arriving in Roswell in a couple of hours. I've already told Tess everything, but I suggest you go over to her house and discuss this with her. I have to leave, this body's heart is going to stop soon. Good luck, Maxwell. Goodbye." Larek said, as he left the room. What a shock! Max had never thought that he had a child. I have to go see Tess. How's she taking all this? A baby, what am I going to do? Max had so many questions with no answers. He rushed downstairs to tell Michael and Isabel.

~~2 hours later~~

At the Valenti house, Tess and Kyle were talking about what would happen now. Then, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it." Kyle said. He went to the door and opened it. There, stood a girl about 16 of age and rather petite. Her belly was swollen which obviously showed she was expecting.
"Hi, is Tess here?" She asked, as her curly red hair shone in the moonlight.
"Uh, yeah. Tess, it's for you." Kyle said as he looked at Tess. Tess came to the door, not knowing what to expect. She looked at the girl and had an instant connection. "Tess? Are you Tess Harder? It's me, your sister." She said.
"Karina? It'sY.. it's really you. I've missed you so much." Tess tried to keep her tears back as she hugged Karina.
"Please, come in. Sit down. I remember you so well. How are you?"
"It's been a long trip. But it's all worth while. I've waited so long to see you alive again. Some of us started to loose hope that you were ever coming back. But, now I know that you are alive, and so the worry is over." Karina was sniffing as she sat down slowly as not to hurt her back. She was obviously almost 9 months pregnant. They talked for about half an hour before Max came to the door.What am I going to say? I mean, she's my sister-in-law. And, she's holding my baby. Okay, just stay calm. Max pressed on the doorbell. Kyle answered the door.
"Hey Max, we've been waiting a while for you. Come on in." Kyle greeted Max. Max walked in and looked over to the couch where Tess sat with a young girl. That must be her. Of course it's her! She fully pregnant! Who else would it be! He walked into the living room.
"Max, this is my sister, Karina. Karina, this is Max, your brother-in-law." Tess introduced the two together.
" Hi Max." Karina said.
"Hi Karina. It's so nice to finally meet you, again." Max said. He could sort of remember how he used to always play hide and seek with Karina when he was young. That was before his father died, when he had to take care of Antar. The doorbell rang again. Kyle got up to get the door and in came in Michael and Isabel.
"We heard what happend." said Isabel.

After an hour of introductions and reminensing, the group was still sitting in the Valenti�s living room.
�So, what you�re saying is that you can feel everything your body feels?� asked Tess.
�Yeah. I feel everything, the baby kicking and also his butt digging into my spine! Ouch, that hurts! The baby is due, like, in a couple of days. So, we�ve only got a couple of days to prepare for your baby. Have you got an apartment or something?� Karina asked.
