"101 Ways To Flirt" and a deck of cards "52 Cheap Dates" I wonder if they were trying to give me a hint...
I did read the book though, and there was a lot of things that I already knew about flirting and what to do to meet people, but there were also quite a few things that I did not know.
On every single one of the ways to meet someone in that book, I either do not follow or I cannot do. The things that that were listed were:
1) Have five conversation with complete strangers per week.
2)Smile... smiles lots and lots
3)Be out in the public where people gather
4)Learn to read the body language
For the ones that I cannot do right now include the have five conversations with strangers, and be out in public where people gather. The reasons for this is work. I work second shift in a professional kitchen. Now for those of you who do not know what a professional kitchen is like let me explain. Almost every restaurant is short-handed and so you are basically on-call all the time. Everyone I come in contact with while at work are people I already know. In addition, while working second shift, you tend to have more of the night-life style. Going out for a beer after work with the other line-cooks or just staying up late because you get so wound up from work. What it boils down to is I live the vampire hours. If I can change this aspect, I think I can make a clean break.
I do try and smile though whenever I can. A smile goes a long way to hide insecurities, and after a little while I seem to forget them if at least for a time.
Reading body language... that is the one I am really gonna have to learn about. Knowing all those non-verbal signs, that would help a lot, it just sorting through people who are interested and uninterested.
Maybe.... just maybe... on my days off, I can be one mean flirting machine...
