Senior Sunshine Center of New Fairfield
History:
With a recommendation of the New Fairfield Commission on the Aging, The Senior Center opened in October of 1986 at the Company A fire hall with a 2 day a week program. In February of 1997 the Center was moved into a 4500 Sq ft leased space and went to a full week of programming. The Center has an advisory committee which helps with planning and self assessment and a Friends (501C3) organization which helps with support and fundraising.
In July of 2009 the Senior Center moved into a new facility at 33 Route 37 North. The new 9,000+ square foot building is owned by the town and situated on town-owned property.
