Who are we?  Elementary Music Teachers, Middle School Music Teachers, Classroom Teachers, Church Musicians, Private School Teachers... Everyone is welcome!
The 2009 Summer Orff Camp was held from July 27th -31st in the Mandarin Area of Jacksonville.  Co-hosted by Mandarin Presbyterian Church, the camp was attended by 70 children in the 2nd - 8th grade from 16 different schools.  NFOC members and volunteers contributed by teaching classes, helping with the projects, serving snacks, cleaning up, providing instruments, and helping with supervision of students.  Thank you to all who made the camp a huge success!  Camp teachers were Jeni West, Dee Dee Tamburrino, Erin Babb, Kim Rose, Jamie Angichiodo, Anne Dix, Richard Spruill, Virginia Dickert, Laurie Zentz, Richard Wright, and Paul Robinson.  Special thanks go to our camp assistants:  Catherine Urso, Sara Dizney, Elyn Collier, Shelby Walker, Heather Johnson, Cindy Costa, and Don Zentz.

In Memory of Peggy Pruett
September 24, 1960 - April 27, 2009

Our friend and former NFOC president, Peggy lost her battle with cancer a few days after our final workshop in April.  She taught in the Clay County Schools, was a National Board Certified Teacher, and had been named "Teacher of the Year" at Ridgeview Elementary.  She was active in the music program at Murray Hill Baptist Church.  Our chapter has made a donation in her memory to the AOSA 2009 Annual Fund.  Additional donations in her memory can be made at our first workshop.
