Discover ways to engage students in grades 4-7 with hands-on music learning.  The focus will be the Orff process manifested through body percussion, instrument playing, singing, and moving.  Songs and activities will be explored that build an understanding of elemental music and lay a foundation for engaging in improvisation.  Age-appropriate beginning materials will be presented, targeting the learner who needs active involvement but is not necessarily functioning at an advanced skill level.  Bring all available voices of recorders and a hand drum.  Participants are also encouraged to bring a conga.
