Deep Space Arc Colony:

Solaria III

Travel Time: 18 Hours @ Warp Five from Deep Space Arc.

Capital City:

The City Of Temples

System Of Government:

Democratic

(Parliamentary System of Regional/Civilian Representation)

Cultural Synposis: Solarians are harboured refugees, settlers whom are predominantly "Vampires", seeking an apolitical planet to set-up their own homesteads on, & generally "fit in" as regular, everyday U.F.P. Citizens.

History:

They settled on Solaria III with help from a half-Vampire named Nick Knight to flee general persecution based on "guilt-by-association" with the banned Genetically-Engineered "Supermen" such as Colonel Green & Khan Noonien Singh of Earth's 20th Century. Solarians' families or "Clans" are therefore exceptionally tightly-knit, spiritually observant, & the people in those families are usually found to be quite sensual by nature. Their psionic abilities include teleportation/dimensional-shifting through obstructions, telekinesis with limited flight, limited line-of-sight telepathy/empathy & enhanced ol'-factory senses, tracking abilities & double to triple normal human strength when excessively provoked.

Solarians prefer to be nocturnal cliff-dwellers as they're somewhat uncomfortable with being potentially vulnerable to natural predators & unscrupulous intruders....bounty hunters, relic hunters & vigilantes uncomfortable with their presence. Their architecture is large & elaborate to aggresively assert their dramatic culture/heritage in the face of gradual social assimilation.

Solaria III includes a partially subterrainean M.I.D.A.S. Network Listening Post run by Starfleet Intelligence, located in a secluded area of it's equator region, due to the moderately-sensitive nature of it's Deep Space surveillance mission.

This installation, euphemistically referred to as "The Treehouse" by its residents, employs Tactical Countermeasures Research Scientists, along with a garrison of A.Q. Alliance Ground-Pounders & Banzai-Class Fighter Pilots. The outpost has been asked to find ways of detecting Borg Transwarp Conduits, cloaked Jem Hadar personnel or Founder infiltrators & Dominion Vessels.

"The Treehouse" has a landing platform provided for authorized combat-support & resupply vessels such as the Valiant-Class protectorate ship U.S.S. Javelin & the Wanderer-Class S.S. New Mexico (shown above.)

Recent Archeological Find:

A cloaked unknown alien installation right in the middle of the planet's most inhospitable southern desert area. Away Teams report that it's abandoned. No forensic evidence of recent activity by forces unknown, meaning either during or after Federation colonization. Carbon-dating of alien artifacts has so far been inconclusive. One of our commercial ships crashed in the vicinity of the anomoly & damaged one of this installation's already-failing support systems during the transport's descent. If we hadn't gone on a rescue mission to retrieve the colonists aboard the transport... this location would've easily stayed buried for years until inevitable encroachment would have uncovered..or triggered something.
