(Starfleet Tactical Reconnaissance And Commando Operations Squad) Engineering History: The Phased Mass Holographic Masking Technology was adapted (by the S.C.E. Personnel based at Deep Space Arc) to the Valiant-Class U.S.S. Javelin. It was a controversial leadership judgement-call; a decision made mainly as a result of the U.S.S. Incursion successfully penetrating Klingon Space without detection two-and-a-half years ago in 2377. The U.S.S. Incursion was an experimental Defiant-Class variant, commanded by Marcus Refelian. This technology consists of a handful of components: (A.) The Phased Mass Holographic Masking Device (or "P.M.H.M.D.") enables any vessel it's adapted to, to holographically imitate other vessels that it has previously mapped and scanned. While the holographic projection will not stand up to intense scrutiny, it will pass cursory scans and will make the masked vessel-in-question appear to the enemy as an exact visual replica of its imitated target, even vessels that are much larger than itself. (B.) An active-type programmable warp signature generator collar, used to simulate and project the warp signature of any known vessel. (C.) An experimental long-range sensor bore which covertly plants simulated data into a target ship's sensor array. Essentially it enables a masked-vessel to appear to an outside sensor sweep as any appropriate, previously mapped-&-scanned vessel. ....In addition to recent technology developments contributed by Cytherian, Q, & Borg enhancements via Seven-of-Nine, Lieutenant Reginald Barclay of the U.S.S.
