Secret Islands
There are two secret islands in FF8 which are The Island closest to heavan and the Island closest to hell. To get to these islands you must have the Ragnorak. When you have, the Island closest to heavan is one of the most eastern islands on the map and it is just NorthEast of the Grandidi forest. The Island closest to hell is the most Western island on the map. Each Island is full of strong magic drawpoints such as Metwor and Ultima but each drawpoint only contains about 3 of each magic so I suggest that you go to each drawpoint and when you have emptied them all go and do some more of the game and if you go back most of them will be ready to use. To see how to use magic to raise your stats see the
Junctioning section. Make sure though to have Diablos encounter none otherwise be prepared for some frequent difficult battles.
Cactaur Island
Cactaur island is the small island southeast of the kashkabald desert and it is directly east of the centra ruins. If you still cant find it is a very small island next to a big one and both of them are mostly yellow. You must have the Ragnarock to land here when you do land on it and you will see a large green cactus pop up run into it to initiate combat. This GF is easy to defeat despite its large HP. Just keep pounding it with attacks and magic and don’t let it escape. A new GF isn't all what you get on the island. Quite often you will be drawn into a battle with some average cactaurs. These are quick and will run away usually within 5 seconds so keep attacking them with attacks. This should be squall because everyone else misses (usually). Keep killing these things until your GFs have learned everything. With these abilities learned you should now have good abilities to junction to raise your HP such as HP+60%. With lots of powerfull magic junctioned you should now be strong enough to go to the next secret but save before you go. (SEE Junctioning on how to junction magic and abilities.)

Gaining GF Bahamut
When you have the Ragnarock the first thing you should do is go to the most Southwestern part of the map. Here you will see a small building. Enter it by flying the aircraft into it. When you enter you will be told of a blue light. Every time you move when this light is on you will be drawn into battle. To overcome these battles you should walk to the pillar in sets of 2 or 3 steps. When you eventually get there someone will talk to you. You will be given a set of answers to choose from. You should answer You don’t wish to fight and he will initiate combat. To defeat the Ruby Dragon you can either get squall to keep using the Renzokuken with the LIONHEART (see Magazines) or you can keep using Holy and strong Ice attacks such as Blizzage. Depending on your level at maximum he should have about 50 000 HP. When he is defeated you will be addressed again this time say that you will continue and you will fight another Ruby Dragon. Then when you are addressed again you will be given two options but there is an invisible one under the two choose that and you will battle BAHAMUT. This monster is powerful. First cast protect, shell and Aura on your entire team. Aura will enable early limit breaks so start using them. Especially Squalls. You can also use Shiva which does some damage. When he is defeated go back to the Ragnarock and talk to all of your team then re-enter the research center to get the best GF:
GF Eden
To get this GF you will have to be ready to work. First of all climb down the green stalk. Be Warned your stats MUST be high and you must be well prepared because you could be on for ages and still not defeat Ultimate Weapon as he can have up to 120000 HP depending on the level youre on so make sure you have high HP by getting good magic (see secret Islands above) Your first aim is to get to the lowest level of the center and this is where Zell comes into play. When you climb down you will see a terminal on your left for instructions so read these carefully. To get down to the lowest level you must use a certain amount of steam units for each level. You start with 20 and you must finish with 10. With Zell in your team he will make this easier. First use 4 steam units and you can go to L2 use 2 steam units here and 2 for the next level and then use 1 for L4 and get Zells help going to the bottom by going to the machine and Zell will end up punching it to get you access for the lower levels. This is where the high stats come in. Your aim now is to reach the very bottom and to do this you have to battle a different monster for each level such as Tri face, Iron Giants and Behemoths. If you die here before you get to Ultimate Weapon I still suggest you start again because Eden has good abilities to learn When you get to the bottom use Sirens Move-Find ability to find a save point. Save and prepare yourself. Examine the large terminal and fight Ultimate Weapon. Cast protect magic on everyone and draw Eden. Now use Limit Breaks. If you are fortunate and get the Lionheart twice it will almost defeat him. Cast meltdown to lower his HP. When he is defeated junction Eden, save your game and make your way back upstairs where all the monsters have gone. You now will have 2 new GFs!!!.
