Introduction to The Book
By Asrugan

From the scribing of Feldspar:
I have been asked to add to this journal, articles of general interst and insight, about the world and things in it.  Understanding the complexities of this world requires us to know most about its history first and foremost.  So, I begin with the ancient artifact, The Tome of That Which Has Been, Will Be, and is Yet to Come.  I once possessed the ancient tome, and I will divulge my knowledge of it now.
This book was created far far back in time; immemorial, and by who, it is unknown, but this book has the written history of all time in its pages.  Now, as I suspect you are thinking, you want to look into the book and see your future.  I once thought about it myself, yet the book will not do this.  As far as I can tell, the willfull only immortal to see detail that involve themselves.  Yes, this book does have a mind of its own and it will do as it pleases, not as is willed of it.  There is only one way to access the book, you must possess a Stalis, an Imperial Key.  The Stali, which served as keys for opening doors and mechanations of the Empire.  Beyond this though, the most powerful Stalis can open portal in time an even space itself.  But, I shall save that for another entry, for now the book
One can use a Stalis of sufficient power on the book and then they must command the book to show them a certain time, person, or place.  At times, the book can willful enough to open to a place of its own choosing.  Sometimes, this is merely to show a time or event that needed to be effected to preserve itself.  The book even has power to open portal to those places itself, but rarely has it done so.  As a note to those who may someday find the book, anything seen or read fades from one's memory in two days.  I have scribed some of what I have read, in order that I might have record of it.
In my next entry I shall share one such entry with you..

From the Scribings of Feldspar.

I write this now, as it was read to me, by the Tome tThat Which Has Been, Will, Be, and is Yet to Come.

General Fazal stood atop the mighty warship "Stormbringer" and watched as his army spread out across the plains, in search of the last hold of the resistance.  From his sourcesm he knew it was here somewhere, hidden beneath the fields of grass.  After a time, the first scout ships reported back with findings, and Fazal boarded a skiff to see what they had found.  The small skiff slowly approached a hilltop clearing of the grass and a small village came into sight, but he knew it was there much sooner than sight could say.  The flames and smoke rose far into the sky.  He departed the ship to see which of the resistance members they had caught this time.  He wanted to see this endm this wasn't his war after all.  The regent had it ordered to urge the "elements resistant to his rule" from the planet once and for all.  Slowly he moed charred boddies of commoners, the people he was "protecting".  To one side, he saw movement, and he turned to see an old man rise up from his hiding place.  Raising a pithcfork in his hands he moved towards Fazal, determination in his eyes.  Fazal was frozen, for he had always thought himself a man of the people, of the highest station.  In that moment, Fazal stood looking at what he would have beenm had he not been taken into the army at such a young age.  Surely he would have grown into this type of life, it was where he was from.  As the man raised the fork to strike a cry came from behind Fazal's personal lieutenant striking the man down with a deadly blow of his sword.  The old man died, falling to the ground.  Hatred faded from his eyes as he reached for Fazal.  At this moment, Fazal made his decision.

Therses Fazal was the general of the Imperial army for almost 15 years,  He was taken from his home as a child, raised to be a soldier.  After extraodinary bravery and in a battle which, after the genreal of the imperial forces fell and he assumed leadership and lead them to victory,  he became the leader of alll the Imperial forces, supplicant only to the Regent.  He led the forces in victory after victory, until that day.  From then on, he attempted to divert the Imperial forces from destroying the last hopes for individual freedom that the world had left.  Within a few months, he was discovered and fled to the resistance.  Once there, he proved himself to them and quickly became their leader.  On the eve of the Resistance vistory, with the ending of the Imperial reign forever drawing near, Fazal had led a raid to capture the Grand Stalis, The Stalis of the Rgent himself.  This Stalis contained the power to unlock all the portal that made it so easy for the empire to move across the world and to stop the resistance.  Fazal took the Stalis and prepared to destory it.  Standing on the cliff where he was to signal the circle of seven to be to begin the master spell.  Suddenly he was beset upon by an Imperial assassin, who had been sent for him.  Fazal grabbed the assassin and turned, flinging himslef and the assassin from the cliff.  A search was made, but all that was found was the remains of the Great Stalis, both bodies were gone.
