The Guild was formed in May, 1982 to further education and fellowship
for area amateur and professional
woodworkers, to advance the collective interest
of woodworking, to promote good will, and to gain recognition
through shows.
Fellow woodworker:
Membership in the Northeastern Wisconsin Woodworkers
Guild is open to all amateur and professional
woodworkers, male and female, for whom wood as
a craft material is of special interest.
Some of the benefits realized by members are:
Monthly lectures and workshops presented by accomplished woodworkers.
Opportunities to have programs
about topics that interest you...
Access to the Guild's extensive, continually growing library of books,
videotapes, and plans - more than 250
items, including a dupticarver and scroll saw.
Bench Talk, the official monthly publication of the Guild, is filled
with information about upcoming meetings,
workshops, tours, book and magazine reviews, free
"buy-sell-trade" information, plans for jigs and fixtures, and
other articles of interest to members.
A forum for exchanging ideas and information about
equipment, techniques, sources, and solving woodworking
problems.
Monthly meetings of members with special interest
in wood carving, with "hands-on" sessions focusing on
carving techniques, sharpening, design, and painting.
Exhibition of our creations at our Annual Spring
Show held in Green Bay every year since 1983.
Field trips to exhibitions, trade shows, and other
places of interest to woodworkers.
Opportunities to contribute as a group to "Toys
for Tots" or others. Wooden toys are special treasures.
Annual August picnic and festive December pot-luck.
Good will and fellowship.
Since the Guild's inception, members have shared
their common interests and knowledge with one another. The
Guild has expanded to more than 100 members with
a wide range of interests and skill levels. It is an exciting,
dynamic group of people of all ages. We look forward
to meeting new members.
