Here is an overview of my various musical projects...
I play tenor saxophone and clarinet in The Brash Punks, a Balkan Brass Band based in the South Bay that is known for its raw, exciting, and unpolished sound while remaining a band that keeps it fun for the dancers.
The Brash Punks
Staro Vino
I play clarinet with this group that features my dad Mark on vocals and percussion is Ellyn Bush on accordion and vocals.  Our repertoire consists mostly of Bulgarian, Macedonian, and Serbian repertoire and we play listening music as well as dance music.
Kaladrios
I play clarinet with Kaladrios, a band that focuses on music from Greek, Armenian, Turkish, and Albanian traditions.  The band features Aya Davidson on violin, oud, and vocals, Lily Storm on vocals, Dennis Demakos on laouto and vocals, and Sandy Hollister on percussion and vocals.  We play at Bacheeso's Garden Bistro in Berkeley on the corner of Dwight and San Pablo every Saturday from about 6 to 9 (check website as some weeks we cannot make it).  Contact me for booking.
Deli Kanll
Deli Kanll (pron. delly con-luh - crazy blooded in Turkish) describes one who is full of passion and wild at heart. The music of Deli Kanll strives to embody the phrase, pushing the strong tradition of Turkish music to its edge. Deli Kanll adds Chinese erhu (Calvin Lai) and upright bass (Alex Pasternak) to the conventional Turkish oud (Larry Klein, Gari Hegedus), clarinet (me), and darabuka (Sean Tergis, Faisal Zedan, Mark Bell) to create an intriguing twist.
