| The Brash Punks is a loud, fast, and raw Balkan Brass band that plays music from the Bulgarian, Greek, Macedonian, Serbian, Vlach, and especially the Rroma traditions. The band came about through an impromptu jam session in the summer of 2004 at a party at local Balkan folk music guru Bill Cope's house. We made our debut at the Kolo Festival 2 years ago and since then, we have played at music festivals, for local international folkdance groups, and even one wedding. We were also heard on Santa Cruz public radio on Gypsy Flores's show promoting The 2005 Kolo Festival. We are based out of the South Bay and have strong roots in Mountain View, San Jose, and Santa Cruz. The Brash Punks are avaliable for dance parties, weddings, clubs (under 21 of course) and anywhere else you think you might need a brass band. | |||||||||||||||||
