The Day You Left- Chapter Two
Mommy! Come on! We always go! Brandon said pulling on my arm. Lets go! Please mommy! Alright, well go, but I have to go to the office first, Yeah! He said releasing my arm and proceeded to bounce all around the house. He ran upstairs as fast as his legs could carry him and came back down shortly with his bucket and pail. Were not leaving yet Brandon, I smiled. I know, he shrugged. I just didnt want to forget. Can I go watch TV? Go ahead. Just keep it down, I said as the phone rang. I reached over and answered. Hello?
Hey babe. Hey Jon. How was your flight? Long. Are you just getting in? Yeah. Hows Brandon? Hes fine. I promised him wed go to the beach later, I wish I could go, He whined. Well go when you get back, I laughed. But since you are on the other side of the world, you should probably get some sleep. You wont be any good to anyone if you cant stay awake through the seminars, Yeah, youre probably right, I usually am, Yes you are, He laughed. Tell Brandon I love him, and Ill talk to him soon, I will, I love you Heather, I love you too, I said before hanging up. *** OK. Brand, were gonna run in really fast and pick up some stuff, and then well go to the beach, I said pulling up to the curb. Brandon hopped out of the car while I put money in the parking meter. I grabbed Brandons hand and we went into the building. Well, hello, Frank said. Hi Frank, Brandon said to the large security guard. Were going to the beach, Really? I wish I could go with you, Thats exactly what his father said this morning, I laughed. Mrs. Fielding, you had a visitor this morning, I hadnt seen before, Frank said handing Brandon his keys. Who? I asked. Frank picked up the clipboard and looked at it. Nick Carter. He must still be up there, he hasnt signed out yet. He a friend of yours?
