Chapter Four
Bye guys!  Call me tomorrow! Haylie called out the door to Sara and Kevin.

Brian closed the door and locked it, as they pulled away.  He then pulled Haylie toward him and kissed her lips.  So Mrs. Littrell are you ready to call it a night? he asked.

Only if youre coming upstairs with me, Haylie replied smugly.  She began going up the stairs, pulling Brian behind her.

Brian didnt want to get his hopes up, but Haylie was acting more like herself.  He smiled and replied, Well Mrs. Littrell, I do believe thats an offer I cant refuse.  They went into their bedroom, closing the door behind them.  Brian pulled Haylie into his arms and kissed her passionately, he missed holding her close.  Haylie began backing up in the direction of their bed; Brian pulled away and looked deep into her emerald eyes.  Hay, we dont have to do this, he said genuinely.

I know, Haylie responded, pulling him toward her.  Haylie sat down on the bed; Brian sat next to her.  He reached over and kissed her again, she wrapped her arms around him and they both fell back.  Brian slowly began to unbutton Haylies shirt, but stopped when he looked down and saw tears falling down her face.  He immediately re-buttoned her shirt; she began to sob.  Brian got up from the bed and left the room, leaving Haylie on the bed with her memories.

Brian went downstairs and into the kitchen, where Nick was sitting at the table.  So are you and Haylie having a pleasant night? Nick smirked.

Hell no, because that would be too normal! Brian fumed.  Nick, that son of a bitch has taken everything away from her!  Tonight, I knew she wasnt ready, but she insisted, his voice began to crack.
Bri, its not your fault, it just takes time.

Time!  Everyone tells me that constantly!  It took him twenty minutes to completely ruin her life, and now its going to take years for her to build herself up again, Brian raged.

You cant waste your time thinking about that, Nick replied.

Nick, I try not to think about it, but you cant stop when you have constant reminders.  I miss the old Haylie so much, I would do anything to get her back, anything.

After Brian left, Haylie could no longer control herself, the tears began to flow full force.  She lay on the bed and continued crying for what seemed like an eternity, but she couldnt stop.  Haylie lifter her head when there was a knock on the door.  Come in, she uttered through her tears.

Nick slowly opened the door and entered the room.  He walked over and sat down on the bed next to Haylie.  Do you want me to take you to Sara and Kevins? he asked.

She looked up at him, No, I just, I just need to get rid of all of these memories, she sobbed.

Haylie, you know Ill do anything I can to help you, all you have to do is tell me what, Nick responded.

I wish you could help me, but Im the only one who can get me back to being me, and I need to do it soon or Im going to lose Brian.

Nick looked down sympathetically, as a whole new batch of tears began to flow down Haylies cheeks.  Youre not going to lose Brian, youre going to spend the rest of you life with him.

Nick, Ive already lost him in so many ways, if I could just get back to being Haylie, things would be okay again.

Well, what is it going to take? Nick asked.

If I knew, Haylie began, I wouldve done it already.
