Blood Bowl is a game of fantasy football set in an alternate universe where all manner of teams battle it out for supremacy to become the ultimate champions.

Teams pass, run and generally maim their way through the opposition to score touchdowns in order to win the game.

All of the rules from the blood Bowl living rulebook along with the 2004 rules review (available at the Blood Bowl website), will be used for the duration of the tournament with the exception of the four minute rule. This is so strategy is more important than quick thinking.

The tournament will run for six games in a Swiss style tournament. All of the participants will play in each round of games. Players will also be ranked after each game in order for matches to be evenly contested (you should be playing against people of equal standing throughout the championships). If for whatever reason there are an odd number of players, then a stand-in team will be entered to make up the numbers, so that no one gets left out.

All teams must begin with a total of 1,150,000 gold crowns of value. Put another way, they should be of a team rating (tr) of 115. all of the games will be played in a resurrection format. This means that although players may become injured or even killed throughout the games, due to the magic healing properties of the sun and surf of newquay, all teams are reset to their original lineups ready for the next match. Also please note that Star Players and Secret Weapons will not be used throughout this tournament.

Due to the nature of the Swiss style system, before a new round can commence, each game from the previous round must be concluded. Rapid players may need to wait for long periods between rounds.

Blood Bowl is a social game and with the rule set laid out, there should be relatively few problems with regards to disputes between players. Due to the very nature of the game, some differences of opinion on certain rules may arise. It is advised that players settle their rules queries between themselves fairly and rationally. If for whatever reason this cant happen, then there are tournament referees on hand to clear up the problems. The decision of the tournament referee will be considered final.

The tournament times laid out here are not set in stone and may be subject to change by the organizers at any time, but provisionally the times will be thus:

Saturday 6th August 2005
Doors open and registration 9am 10am
Game one 10am 12pm
Lunch 12pm 1pm
Game two 1pm 3pm
Game three 3.30pm 5.30pm
End of day one and drinking 5.30pm onwards

Sunday 7thth August 2005
Doors open 9am
Game four 9.30am 11.30am
Lunch 11.30am 12.30pm
Game five 12.30pm 2.30pm
Game six 3pm 5pm
Presentations 5.30pm onwards

Due to the amount of games that are to be played the organizers have allowed a maximum of two hours for each game. Whilst most games should be finished well within this time limit, we do need to be strict with regards to these timings. The organizers will notify all players at regular intervals when time may be getting short and you need to hurry up. If the game has not finished within the allotted two hours then the tournament referees have the right to declare the match complete. Hopefully this will not have to happen.

At the end of every game, you have the choice of either alloting 2 skills to two players or choosing one doubles roll to one player in your team. This means that at the end of game five your team could either have 10 skills on different players, 5 doubles rolls on team players or anything in between. As well as this both competing coaches need to fill out a score card for the game with the following details:

Team names for both coaches Both coaches names (printed in capitals) Both coaches naf numbers (if applicable) Final score of the match Final casualties scores from the match Both coaches signatures

Casualties are only counted from injuries sustained from blocking or blitzing. Players pushed into the crowd or fouled and becoming injured will not count towards the casualty score.

this signature means that you agree with the details handed into the organizers. If theres a problem with any of the scores then please dont sign the score card until youre happy.

The points system for the newquay bowl tournament will be as follows:

A win will be awarded 10 points

A draw will be awarded 5 points

A loss will be awarded 0 points

A conceded game will receive -5 points

A bonus point will be awarded for every touchdown that is scored, up to a maximum of 3 points.

A bonus point will be awarded for every casualty that has been caused, up to a maximum of 3 points.

A maximum of 5 bonus points will be awarded if both touchdowns scores the maximum along with the casualties.

If for any reason there's a tie it will b graded upon the following things in order. Most touchdowns, Most casualities, net casualties and lastly net touchdowns. If there is still a tie, then the organisers will have to think of something pretty sharpish to decide.

For instance, bob and Jim are playing a match. Bob wins the game 3-2 although Jim managed to take the most casualties 3 1. bob will get a total of 14 points for this game. Jim will get a total score of 5 points.

All coaches need to be in possession of appropriate miniatures for their team. These miniatures can be from any manufacturer you desire, whether converted or not. All we ask is that they are easily identifiable and are numbered accordingly to your team sheet.

Lastly there will be the following prizes at this years tournament: the tournament winner the tournament runner up most touchdowns scored most casualties scored best painted tournament loser
