Q: Where's the graphics?
A: Only pictures necessary to illustrate concepts will be included on the main pages.
Imagine a 56K modem user if heavy graphics were incorporated into the site. If the modem user downloaded graphics, each page would take a terribly long time to load. If the modem user turned graphic downloading off, the diagrams wouldn't be shown. In either case, if heavy graphics were incorporated into the site, the modem user would lose out. Thus, no heavy graphics.
Q: How about two versions of the page? One graphic-intensive, one non-graphic-intensive?
A: I'll be keeping the pages on strategy and tactics strictly dedicated to "informing the reader", and thus won't create graphic intensive versions for those pages. Certain other sections may have plenty of graphics, though.
Q: Other sections? . . .
A: Sections like the Purity Test section, the Painted Minis For Sale section, the Online Store section, and the Campaign section.
Q: I don't see any Online Store section.
A: May-June of 2002, I *think*. I want to finish most of the page before introducing the store - i.e. finish the Strategy and Tactics chapters, the Campaign rules, plus a few other projects I'm working on for the page.
Q: Other projects?
A: Projects like recruiting writers, creating specific army list sections, moving to a new server . . . Most of this will be after the S&T Chapters and Campaign rules are finished (i.e. March-April of 2002)
Q: Whatever happened to the Analysis Program?
A: Still working on it. The commercial release will probably be in December of 2002. There *will* be a freeware version as well, although that version will have limited features. In the meantime, there's a JavaScript version in the experimental page link.
Q: How will the Online Store work?
A: Pretty much like most of the other online stores - about the same prices, specials on some items each week. There'll probably be a few additional features. (giveaways, promotional giveaways, lotteries for expensive army deals, plus whatever else I can cook up . . . suggestions are welcome, BTW)
Q: Semi-retirement?
A: Yup, going into semi-retirement as I work on other projects. Page updates will commence in late March of 2002.
