Each year 50,000 green cards are
made available through the 'Diversity
Visa Lottery', better known as the Green
Card Lottery. Millions of people from
around the world enter this lottery, in search
for an opportunity to live and work in the United
States.
Several
million entries were rejected in previous
lotteries, mostly due to errors made by the
applicants on their entry forms or envelopes.
This might have been your
application. Did you ever ask yourself why you
were not selected? This is a once in a lifetime
opportunity, and you should make absolutely
sure your entry form is completed
accurately and submitted in the precise manner
dictated by the lottery instructions.
Effective
this year, all applicants who register to
participate in the Diversity Visa lottery program
must do so electronically through a designated
Internet website, http://www.dvlottery.state.gov. The website will become
operational, and applicants may access the
website between Saturday, November 1,
2003, and Tuesday, December 30, 2003, to
fill out the electronic diversity visa entry form.
Paper entries and mail-in requests for diversity
visa registration will no longer be accepted.
Most
of the applicants fill out their own entry form.
Some make use of lawyers or other agencies to
enhance their chance of being selected. If you
use one of these types of services, you will have
to pay for it. In some cases applicants have paid
a lot of money, but still haven't had any luck in
the lottery. So why throw your money out of the
window when you can fill out the entry form by
yourself?
We
have provided step-by-step instructions for
several different scenarios. All you have to do is
find the scenario that fits your own situation.
Then you just fill out your own entry form
exactly the same way we have done with ours.
Remember to use your own name and address
instead of the ones in our examples. Make sure
you fill out your application during the 60 day registration
period. And that's it!
All
DV-2005 lottery entries must be submitted between
Saturday, November 1, 2003 and Tuesday, December
30, 2003.
Good
luck!
