How can a Rotten Tree produce good fruit?
Is this not what Jesus said?
(Matt. 7:15-20 NLT)
15 "Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are really wolves that will tear you apart.
16 You can detect them by the way they act, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit. You don't pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles.
17 A healthy tree produces good fruit, and an unhealthy tree produces bad fruit.
18 A good tree can't produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can't produce good fruit.
19 So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire.
20 Yes, the way to identify a tree or a person is by the kind of fruit that is produced.
The Watchtower Tree was rotten from the beginning. The founder, Charles Taze Russell, believed in Pagan ideas, such as the pyramid. The symbol on his early "Studies in the Scriptures" was that of the Egyptian Sun god, Ra. This same symbol (the winged sun-disk) can be found adorning the ancient coffin [located at the British Museum] of a priestess the Egyptian god Amen-Re. (pictured in "Man, Myth, & Magic: The illustrated Encyclopedia of Mythology, Religion and the Unknown" Edited by Richard Cavendish, p. 3034 [article entitled: Wings]. This publication should be available at any good sized library. (Also Compare the illustration on
pages 648 and 651 of the *Proclaimers* book to the illustration in "Man, Myth, & Magic", page 3034 which is pictured below)
This same symbol can be found adorning the literature of the Masonic Lodge An illustration can be found on page 435 of *Morals and Dogma*
The Masonic Lodge is based on the occult, and the ancient Egyptian Religion. There are many more examples that I could give regarding the occultic beginnings of what is now known as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Since this is not the place for a term paper, I will leave it at this one example.

The Rosicrucian movement, of which the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, is the most prominent modern representative, has its roots in the mystery traditions, philosophy, and myths of ancient Egypt dating back to approximately 1500 B.C. In antiquity the word "mystery" referred to a special gnosis, a secret wisdom. Thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt select bodies or schools were formed to explore the mysteries of life and learn the secrets of this hidden wisdom.
Amazing Parallels
It is revealing to note that a number of Watchtower doctrines line up with what Greber's spirit messengers revealed to him as "truth" in his book Communication with the Spirit World of God. Frequently throughout his book Greber quotes verbatim from his spirit messengers. The following are a few quotes from Communications with the Spirit World of God followed by equivalent teachings of the Watchtower:
1. Watchtower Doctrine: Jesus is NOT God.
Communication with the Spirit World of God, page 333:
Christ's contention concerning His own person, concerning the source of His doctrine and the power which He possessed was, therefore, that He had received each and everything from the Father. From Himself He had nothing. He is not God.
Reasoning from the Scriptures, page 214:
And Jesus himself never claimed to be God but, rather, "the Son of God." Jesus was sent into the world by God; so by means of this only-begotten Son, God was with mankind.
2. Watchtower Doctrine: The Trinity teaching is NOT supported in the Bible.
Communication with the Spirit World of God, page 371:
As you see, the doctrine of a triune Godhead is not only contrary to common sense, but is entirely unsupported by the Scriptures.
Reasoning from the Scriptures, page 424:
The evidence is indisputable that the dogma of the Trinity is not found in the Bible, nor is it in harmony with what the Bible teaches.
3. Watchtower Doctrine: Only the Father, not the Son, is God.
Communication with the Spirit World of God, page 364:
That Christ is not God I proved to you by the Scriptures and in greater
detail, when I taught you concerning His life and His work.
The truth that only the Father, but not the Son, is God, is furthermore
sustained by the teachings of the Apostles. Thus Paul writes: "... there is
no God, but one."
The Watchtower, December 1, 1983, page 16:
Consistently Paul makes this distinction not only between the Father and
Jesus but between God and Jesus. He writes of God and Christ.
4. Watchtower Doctrine: The physical body of Jesus NOT
resurected - it disappears.
Communication with the Spirit World of God, pages 385-86:
To the Christians of today the "resurrection of the dead" means the
making anew of the physical body, and Christ's resurrection on Easter
Sunday is regarded by them as the reunion of His spirit with His body
which had lain in its grave for three days.... Not even of Christ was the
natural body raised. Like the physical bodies of all mortals it had been
created from the od of the earth and like them it returned to earth, with
this exception, that it was not redissolved into terrestrial od by way of
decay, but by dematerialization effected by the spirit world.
Aid to Bible Understanding, pages 247, 587, 1587:
When his disciples went to the tomb early on the first day of the week,
Jesus' body had disappeared and the grave clothes were left in the tomb,
his body doubtless being disintegrated without passing through the
process of decaying.... Jehovah God evidently disposed of Jesus' fleshly
body in his own way (possibly disintegrating it into the atoms of which it
was constituted). ... he was resurrected, but not in his fleshly body, which
was given as a ransom sacrifice;
yet that fleshly body did not go into corruption, but was disposed of by
God...
5. Watchtower Doctrine: All Bible Translations contain defects - so
that is why the WTBS created the NWT.
Communication with the Spirit World of God, page 285:
Erring mortals revised the Biblical accounts, omit-ting what they could
not understand or adding their own mistaken explanations.... Elsewhere
in the Holy Writ the truth has suffered at the hands of translators who
have rendered certain words and phrases of the original text so
inadequately as to distort their real meaning beyond recognition.
The New Testament, by Johannes Greber, page 8:
It is an actual fact that no other book on earth has undergone so many
changes and falsifications at the hands of the copyists as has the Bible....
Even the well versed scholar cannot say for certain... which of the words,
sentences, or chapters that have been intentionally or accidentally left
out, overlooked, misread, misinterpreted, capriciously altered, or
deliberately falsified by the copyists... the situation is made worse by the
translations of the text into our modern languages.
All Scripture Is Inspired Of God And Beneficial, page 323:
... all these translations, even down to the very latest, have their defects.
There are inconsistencies or unsatisfactory renderings, infected with
sectarian traditions or worldly philosophies, and hence not in full
harmony with the sacred truths that Jehovah has recorded in his Word.
This is only a few examples. The similarities between what the spirit
messengers taught Johannes Greber and what the Watchtower Society
teaches are remarkable.
