Arthur Killbery Memorial

Club
President Dr Keith Scott with Arthur's son, Jim, and
Grandsons, Sam and Nathan
The club
hut at Fifth Road was officially renamed "The Arthur
Killbery Pavilion" last Thursday at a special ceremony
which was attended by many club members and their
families. Arthur's son and two grandsons also travelled
a long way to be present for the occasion. Club
President, Dr. Keith Scott, gave a speech and
then unveiled the new plaque to honour Arthur and all
the years of service he so willingly gave to the club.
Extensive refurbishment and re-decoration of the
pavilion has taken place over the past few months in
preparation for the renaming ceremony. These were
funded by very kind donations from Arthur's family and
friends into the Arthur Killbery Memorial Fund

Memorial Fund update
.
Ollie Johnson
(1987 - 2005)
The Ollie Johnson Memorial Fund was
established three years ago in order to offer help and support to young
athletes within the club to enable them to reach their full potential. Formal bursaries are now available to
support committed young athletes, particularly those at college or
university, to help them pay for expenses they incur as a result of
pursuing their athletic career. For example, this might include paying
fees to join a university athletic club, or gym membership fees, or
physiotherapy fees to treat an injury, etc. In respect of an injury the
fund will pay 75% of the costs incurred to both treat and prevent its
recurrence.
Coaches or athletes
wishing to apply to the Memorial Fund committee for a bursary, should
email either Bev or
Sarah
with details of the potential expenses or those already incurred
and their application will be discussed at the next committee meeting.
