WELCOME BACK
The School of Journalism plans to work closely with students to prepare for semester conversion. The faculty already has been making important decisions about our program requirements to help students who began with the quarter system make the transition smoothly to semesters. We will begin this fall holding mandatory meetings with groups of students, first with the Class of 2004, and then with other classes to talk about the changes ahead. The College of Arts and Sciences will play an important role in preparing students for this transition. Please take the time to study this information as it becomes available and talk with your advisor, so that you can make good decisions about your program and future!c Stephen D. Burgard
Director, School of Journalism

Meet the new director!
All Journalism majors and minors are invited to meet the new director of the School of Journalism, Steve Burgard, Join Professor Burgard on Thursday, September 26 from noon to 1 pm in room 433 of the Curry Student Center. Pizza will be served! For more information call Gladys McKie at 617-373-4054. See you there!

New Macs have arrived!

Thanks to the University's Educational Technology Committee the School of Journalism begins this school year with brand new G4 Macintosh computers. Many of you know what a struggle it was the past few quarters to get the old Macs to cooperate! Needless to say, these computers must last us for awhile. So in the interest of students now and in the future, please don't bring food or drink in the computer labs. Also, please don't download programs from the Internet on these computers.

Upcoming activities

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will be looking for new members this fall. Watch for more information.
