Events	The purpose of the Netherlands Society of Saint Louis is to provide a social environment for persons of Dutch descent or persons who have an active interest in the Netherlands, including people sharing the Dutch cultural heritage and Dutch speaking people of different nations, in order to communicate with one another on a regular basis about their common heritage and or interest.

 2009 schedule of events:
 
Saturday February 7 - 6:30 p.m. - Movie Night Leo Groenweghe will show the Dutch movie Zwart Boek. This is a members-only event.

March - Spelletjes / Dutch games afternoon or evening

Ganzeborden, Sjoelen, Mens erger je niet ! Join us for fun and games. If you would like to host this small event, please contact us. 
Thursday April 30 - 7:00 p.m. - 9.00 p.m. - Queen's Day Reception We will celebrate at Gretchen's Inn, the banquet center behind the Feasting Fox, 4200 S. Grand, in South St. Louis. Located on the corner of South Grand and Meramec. We will have hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. We are requesting a contribution of $5.00 per person for members, $10 for non-members. 
Monday May 4 - 12:45 p.m. - Dutch Remembrance Day, Jefferson Barracks

Sunday August 30 - Summer Picnic at the Lieberts

The annual picnic at Lake Saint Louis with a scenic boat ride.

Saturday October 24 - Rijsttafel and Trivia The popular rijsttafel! If you are interested in making sure that we continue this wonderful tradition and are willing to help, please contact us. 
Saturday November 7- Movie Night Leo Groenweghe will show the Dutch movie 'Winter Oorlog'. This is a members-only event.

Saturday December 5 - St. Nicholas Party for children
Like every year the Sint will visit the children.
Sunday December 6 - St. Nicholas Party for Adults
The annual Sinterklaas potluck and gift exchange with poem or surprise.
