A few weeks later, somewhere on the shores of Lake Rathe.

Hum roguish secrecy and codes. I should be used to how long winded things become in the shadows of intrigue! I had a certain measure of success in Kaladrim, in that I acquired the other half of the parchment. The only problem was once returned to Stanos, he recalled, (conveniently,) that he could not read it and the whole thing needed translating. He told me of an Erudite known as Eldreth who dwells in a tower in the middle of this lake. Odd sort magic users are, I mean what is with all the towers? And why so inaccessible to reach, you know, the middle of lakes, the top of sheer rock faces, the depths of the Noraths underworld. I did have one such master of the arcane try to explain their existence and needs to me one such day, but as any that know me will vouch for, I have little time for the magical arts.I prefer something tangible,

like poisons to do my work for me. Poisons and the skill of lithe little fingers are my magics, far more solid than those of the arcane!

Anyhow this Eldreth well he was as mad as most magical hermits that I have met, with a complex about fish it seemed. Muttering about turning me into one, then about how much he hated eating fish stuck out herein the middles of the lake; he did take a look at the parchment. The payment of platinum and milk seems to make him far more lucid than I thought possible. It transpires that I must go in search of yet another skilled in the knowledge of ancient languages. Back to Faydwer again but this time to land of all that is Gnomish. I will take my rest here on the shores of Lake Rathe and prepare. I have friends in Faydwer, though I dare not ill spend my time on idle chitchat and pleasure, I need to hurry this thing though.
