Chapter 3

The guys acted like nothing was abnormal in the scene, going on and ordering their food and sitting down at a booth with a table moved up so that the 5th guy could sit down.

"Damnit, I'm going to talk to them," Mandie started to get up and walk over.

"No don't... what time is it? We gotta get going," Cass started freaking out.

"Calm down Cass don't freak out on me now."

They watched as Smokey got up and walked over to who they thought was Tiny, "That must be one of their bodyguards," Mandie finished her last bite of salad and washed it down with water and quickly slipped a wintergreen Altoid in her mouth.

"Man, you're already done?" Cass asked, astonished.

"I eat quick, now finish up, you've barely touched anything," Mandie scolded, turning around to see Smokey talking with the guys.

"Yeah, maybe I should," she picked up her burger and took a big bite out of it.

"Thank you god you're starting to eat now, man, you ate less than me this time, is something wrong?" Mandie asked.

"Well, I've just been seriously overworked, I've been sleeping for 4 hours and woken up at 5AM every morning, that's my only problem."

"You'll get used to it," Mandie stated as 2 of the guys started to walk over with Smokey. Mandie swallowed hard and tried to act normal, "Um Cass look who's coming over?"

Cass looked up from eating her burger and nearly dropped it on her shirt in astonishment, "Holy shit!"

"Wow, you're blunt," Smokey exclaimed, "I knew you'd be happy to see them, but damn girl, you got a mouth on you."

"Smokey," Cass warned and seemed to get back to normal, taking a bite out of her burger again. She tried not to look at the 2 gorgeous men standing next to the booth. Mandie on the other hand was completely obvious of looking at them.

"Hey, my name's Mandie Monroe," Mandie smiled confidently and Cass secretly envied her. She had so much confidence, not saying Cass didn't, but not in front of complete strangers.

"Oh yeah I know who you are... you're that one model huh?" one of the guys said.

"Yah I am." Mandie gave them a suspicious look, "Wait what model are we talking about now?"

"The model on the right?" the other guy questioned, "Both of them look the same, except the one on the left has buck teeth."

"Very funny," she slapped the taller guy on the side and nudged Cass from across the table, but Cass was a little too frightened to talk. She wanted to so bad, but she was awestruck.

"Um, uh," Mandie stuttered when Cass didn't reply to her nudge, "My friend who's not speaking is Cass Blake, don't mind her, she's a little brain dead at the moment." They both laughed, "She is doing TRL today and just begged me to come so I did and here I am meeting two of the hottest guys in the world." Mandie saw Cass blush a little.

"Yeah right, we're butt ugly, or should I say 'ass ugly!'" the taller guy replied and started laughing along with the slightly shorter guy. Cass was still stuck in this awestruck gaze, but not one of those gazes when you're just staring. That'd be just creepy.

"So, why don't you introduce yourselves? Cass might not know who you are," Mandie stood up next to the taller guy, almost reaching his height, off by less than 2 inches. "Wow I never knew I was that tall!" Mandie said and laughed while the other guys laughed.

"Well, it's kinda hard not to know who we are but I'm Lance Bass."

"And I'm Justin Timberlake, " they both shook Cass's hand and laughed.

"By the way Cass here is just starting out," Mandie turned her gaze to Cass, "Aren't you?"

"Huh?" Cass finally popped out of her daze and looked down at the burger on the table, ketchup oozing out of it, "What happened to my burger?"

The guys laughed along with Mandie as Cass picked up her neglected burger and threw it in the trash, "I can't believe I have to waste a good cheeseburger."

"Cass, not to be a bitch, but I don't want to waste this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Mandie whispered over to her and Cass finally popped back into reality.

They were actually meeting 2/5ths of *NSYNC.

"But Mandie its 1 we need to go," Cass whined back into Mandie's ear.

"Yah but you know how long you've wanted to meet them... here's your chance Cass, take it," Mandie gave her the same advice she had when they were in the karaoke bar and the tall man came to them and asked Cass to work for him.

"But you know how much I hate to be late, for anything," Cass whined again, looking over at Justin and sighed.

Unfortunately, they had heard her.

"Hey you know what Mandie? Give us a call after this TRL thing and we'll see if we'll get another chance to get together, okay?" Lance commented, handing her his personal cell phone number.

Mandie nearly fainted, but replied calmly, "Okay, we'll see, cutie," she smiled at him.

Lance blushed and bit his lower lip and turned to Justin, "Is she hot or what?"

He turned back just in time to see Mandie, Cass and Smokey walk out and to a yellow Camaro. Mandie got in the drivers seat, Cass in the back and Smokey in the passengers seat...he had never in his life seen so much beauty.

"Man, too bad they had to leave," Lance said in a sort of dreamy state, "Then me and Mandie could have got to hooking up."

"Lance, you're rushing things, it's way too early to talk about that shit yet," Justin replied, running a hand through his newly bleached blonde curls.

"Man, you don't even have to worry about Cass though, you've got Britney, you ain't even looking."

"Yeah, I've got Britney and I love her."

"I didn't mean for you to actually go and agree with me!" Lance exclaimed, "I mean, you can still look."

"No need for me to look, I already have fate with me," Justin smiled to himself. If Cass could have seen Justin at the moment, she would have cried.

"Man, no comment," Lance told his friend and started to walk back to the booth of their own, and then muttered to himself, "But I think fate threw you a curveball."

"What was that Pu-foo?" Justin caught up to him.

"Nothing I didn't say a thing."

"Bullshit Lance."

"Did you ever think Brit was using you for publicity?"

"What are you talking about? She has enough publicity for an army!" Justin exclaimed.

"Man, I wouldn't say that, she needs a lot of attention, you know."

"Yeah I know, and I can't give it to her every second she wants."

"From the press a lot and a good way to get her in a lot of pictures is to be with you."

"Whatever," Justin blew Lance off and sat back down.

"Oh shit!" they heard Chris yell, "Justin, man, you're gonna be late."

"For what?" Justin asked.

"Your TRL appearance," Joey chimed in, "You know? The one with Elton John?"

"Oh shit I am...I have to go," Justin grabbed his burger and the other guys followed in suit. They all piled into the limo that was waiting for them and sped off to MTV Studios.
