Raven ran a hair through her black hair and started to cry, like she had so many times before. She didnt know why she had to give into him. He had nothing special to offer her, and he had a girlfriend which made it worse.
Now she sat on the toilet seat, crying in front of the pregnancy test laying on her lap.
It was positive.
She was pregnant.
With JC Chasezs baby.
The baby he would never know about.
Another set of warm tears fell on her cheeks as she sighed again, looking up at the plain white walls of the bathroom in front of her. She heard the phone ringing from the living room and knew it was JC. He always called her at 10 PM every Friday night to check on her.
She got up from the bathroom stall, neglecting the fallen pregnancy test, and went to retrieve the phone. Her green eyes, like a cats, focused on the ringing cell phone and her dainty, white fingers picked it up and quietly asked, Hello?
Raven, its JC, he replied in the same quiet tone.
She sighed as she sat down on the couch and wrapped a finger around her dark hair, Hi. I knew it was you.
You did? How?
"You always call at the same time every week, she laughed lightly and released the strand of black hair from her skinny pale finger, So, hows the family?
She was always one to think of others, and never herself.
Okay, he replied quietly, hearing her lightly sob over the phone, Raven, are you okay?
Raven sniffled again, wiping a solitary tear away from her eye and squeaked out, Im fine.
Raven, if this is about what happened 2 months ago JC started.
JC, Im not in the mood for bullshit, Raven spoke clearly and strongly to him over the phone, Its not about that at all. You already told me, you have Bobbee, youre happy. It was just an accident and thats all Im taking it as.
Yeah, he replied coldly, not wanting to talk about their one-night stand.
I wont even hint to it again, JC, Im sorry, Raven started to feel her weakness coming back.
Its okay, Rave, I just wanted to let you know that Im gonna come over tomorrow to check on some things with you.
Raven had been one of those individuals that if you didnt check on her once in a while, she might go a little mental. Like she was tonight.
But she wouldnt dare tell JC. She cared enough not to tell him.
JC, Ive got to go, she said quietly and hung up the cell phone in a quick click and tears started to fall out of her eyes again.
Well buddy, she patted her stomach softly and spoke her words of everlasting love, Ill see you someday.
She went to her bedroom, crying herself to sleep, leaving everything in its place, wanting to let JC find it the next day.
The next day
JC walked up quietly to the door of Ravens home, running a hand through his disheveled hair, about ready to knock on the door, when he saw a note on the door.
JC,
Please dont be mad. I had to run out for a little while. It is for your own good. I dont want you to be bothered with anything extra in your life. I went to the abortion clinic to get rid of our baby. Thats right, JC, I was pregnant. With your baby. I just found out last night and I know you dont need burdened with such things. Just please, get the key in the mailbox and make me a bowl of soup before I get home. I can guarantee you I wont be feeling well.
Raven
JCs eyes started to swell up with tears as he thought of poor Raven and the pain she was going through. He couldnt believe he was the cause of all her pain.
He got the key out of the mailbox and quickly unlocked the door, starting to get to work on the soup. Once Raven made a decision, there was no talking her out of it.
Meanwhile
Raven took a deep gulp and looked at the doors in front of her. One walk through those doors, and everything would be different from then on.
