Another film of the Beatles worth noting is Help! although in my opinion is not as good as "A Hard Day's Night". The plot is far stranger and although AHDN was a film that required an avid imagination to be believable Help! is one step away from needing sectioning!. However the jokes, writing, and more great filming from Dick Lester make this a must see film, for any level of Beatle fan.

The plot revolves around a ring that Ringo is in receipt of from what he thinks is a fan, however the ring is sent to him by an Eastern lady who was chosen to be wear the "sacrificial" ring until her death ceremony by the strange "Kailie" religion, that requires a sacrifice on the bearer of the ring.

wow look at that talent!

And so Ringo being Ringo wears the ring and they are chased from London to The Alps to Salisbury Plain to Buckingham Palace to the Bahamas ( not entirely for plot reasons but the Beatles wanted a holiday) entering into all kinds of strange situations along the way.
The film is packed with classic one liners and visual gags, and some great repeatable quotes, It certainly has more jokes in it than AHDN but allot more band giggling due to the exhaustible amount of pot smoked whilst filming.
One of the best scenes in Help! in my opinion is that of Victor Spenetti as the mad scientist, he offers Ringo help in removing the offending ring which is stuck on Ringo's finger and if not removed will lead to his untimely death, via by standing Ringo in a strange contraption that looks a little like a salon hairdryer over his head and connecting various crocodile clip electrodes about his person, the idea being to pass an electric current through his body that will change the molecular structure of the ring causing it to fall off (haven't these people ever heard of butter????????????)
However surprise surprise it doesn't work and merely unzips Ringo's trousers revealing his boxer shorts as they fall to the floor!!!!!!!.
This is a great film and a great laugh the Beatles act in the strangest of situations with ease and make a weird plot almost believable.

well done lads!!!!!!!!!
