A Hard Day's Night is probably my favourite of all the Beatle films. It is based on what mad adventures a group of four madly adored musicians, might have trying to get to a palladium gig, with a few spanners tossed in their way for comic effect. Such as the added responsibility of Paul's trouble making granddad to look after who nearly splits up the group by persuading Ringo to leave and go parading the streets looking for adventure.

The film begins with a brilliantly amusing scene on a train where we are introduced to Paul's granddad (Wilfred Bramble) and the comical scene where there are verbal jibes between the Beatles and a middle class commuter about an open window, and the pace just speeds up from there on in from situation to situation, problem to problem with their screen manager Norm trying to keep it all together and get them to the gig on time
The film in its self is a masterpiece the writing  is witty and funny and the Beatles play the roles brilliantly, and a fantastic performance from Victor Spenetti as the uptight television director who the Beatles constantly jibe and wind up, but apart from all this the directing of the film is incredible and ahead of its time, with multi cameras and high speed and sped up filming, the whole film was the influence for the television show The Monkees  right down to the filming techniques.
The film also has some really powerful and exciting live scenes of the performance (sorry! they do get to the gig, well they are The Beatles, what do you expect!)              These scenes show the true hysteria of the fans at that time, pulling at their own hair, caressing the air around them, sobbing buckets of tears and of course screaming their heads off!!!!!!!!!!!!
All in all this film is an absolute classic and well worth seeing again and again and for those of you who have seen it nah nah na nah nah I know what Johns hobby is!!! but to tell you I WOULD HAVE TO BE RUDE  so ill give you a clue instead, they come in pairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Beatles hard at their hobby!!!!!!!
