à Dijon!

Out of Paris, we headed southeast to the city of Dijon, where they make the world famous mustard!

To the left is a videocassette dispenser. Have you ever seen one of those? You can pick up and return the latest movies 24 hrs./day. Notice how the French spell cassette "K7" because as my French students know, the word for seven is "sept" (pronounced "set". Thus K-sept, spelled K7. Get it? Do you get it? Huh? Huh?

At right are myself and the Père Nöel. Notice how the bank that he's working for claims that they're the bank of the "3rd Millenium". 2000 marks the "3rd Millenium" to the Europeans, and we heard those words everywhere.Anyway, the bank does wish you Joyeuses Fêtes!

M + A + P _ T * A * S * K = 1

The blinking word above signifies your first map task in this little website. I'd like my students to geographically follow my trip. But unfortunately due to technical difficulties that I've not yet been able to work out, the map you're about to see isn't as clear as I'd hoped it to be. You'll have to squint your eyes to find to the SOUTHEAST of Paris, the city of Dijon. Then, still SE of Dijon, you'll find Geneva, which is right next to the the upside down U shaped lake, called appropriately enough, Lake Geneva. Follow the expressway when you make your calculations, afterall, I was driving the Twingo, not flying it!

There's more. Click here to go on to Suisse! (Switzerland)
